http://www68.zippyshare.com/v/47345549/file.html Pulpo’s Hot Bread (2009) >salsa, Latin jazz >Pianist Gilberto Colon Jr. worked and toured with many of the Fania allstars in the golden age of salsa. On this album his band Pulpo re-interprets some salsa classics as well as original music in a variety of Cuban, Puerto Rican, and other Carribean styles. There are some tracks with vocals but for the most part the album is instrumental based and features some fantastic piano solos. Think Monk meets salsa. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_I9AmJPtriE

http://www6.zippyshare.com/v/55076023/file.html Eddie Palmieri- La Perfecta (1962) >Latin, salsa, guajira >Later in his career pianist Eddie Palmieri would go on to be one of the best at mixing traditional Latin styles with jazz harmonies and improvisation but this early record stays very traditional in the Cuban tradition of dance music. There are several styles represented here—mambo, guajira, pachanga, and cha cha cha—it’s an early example of the music that would introduce the salsa craze of the 70’s.
http://www13.zippyshare.com/v/56844147/file.html Ray Barretto- Indestructible (1973) >salsa, Latin jazz >Fania Records is pretty much the “Blue Note” of the salsa world and percussionist Ray Barretto was one of the best-known and most successful of the Fania All-Stars. This is one of his best recordings and all-around one of the best salsa recordings ever. Pure, danceable, fun salsa tunes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChP8yM0lTiE
http://www1.zippyshare.com/v/91390233/file.html Brian Lynch- ConClave (2005) >Latin jazz, post-bop >Trumpet player Brian Lynch has been a big name in both the jazz and Latin music scenes since the 80’s. Here he gathers his own band to perform exciting and adventurous post-bop jazz with an overt Latin flavor.
