Is there such a thing as "Concert etiquette"? I know I'm tall so I'll stand in the middle, but what if someone is dancing with their elbows all in your space?
Do I have to dance? My friends get mad because I just stand there and sway
How do you act at concerts, /mu/?
| >> | No.51565308 >>51565036 Depends what kind of bands you've seen. I've been to a bunch of metal shows where people stand around, where the pit is friendly jostling and pushing, and I've been at other shows where people are bulldozing others, stagediving feet first, throwing elbows at head-level, etc. This isn't just a hardcore thing, but you probably won't see it at most popular metal, folk, black, or doom metal shows. Most death and thrash is completely fine too, and you usually have the option of avoiding the pit unless you're in a small venue. There's just those few that you need to be wary at.
I never mentioned anyone not helping you, but yeah even at the most violent shows most people will try to help you.
Still, I've seen broken noses and chipped teeth. Friends have lost shirts (I've lost a shirt) because of people getting caught and tearing them. |

But, I do know your feeling, m8. It's hard to look someone in the face and tell them that you can't, even if you did it politely, and especially if it was some 8/10 qt3.14 that you'll never have a chance with. But, if it's gonna cause you pain, just say no. Move a bit and try your best to make it a bit easier for them, but just don't if you can't.
I know, you'll look like a complete dick and it's hard to get over yourself. But, sometimes, you just fucking can't. |
