When I tried salvia I wanted to listen to The Stars Are Projectors. When I came up it didn't matter what the fuck I was listening to, who I was and where I was. All that mattered was the fact that I was trapped in Street Fighter for eternity while simultaneously being vivisected by an angry Hindu goddess.

If you want a drug that's good with music, try a low (300mg) dose of DXM. I've had some moments with that, especially with Oneohtrix Point Never. I love Daniel Lopatin's music on DXM.

salvia is not introspective at all at most doses. it's very disorienting and distorts reality to a much larger degree than LSD. it's more of a deliriant than a psychedelic really. you could try listening to music on it but it probably wouldn't sound the same or be 'enhanced', just changed into something hardly recognizable.

Salvia makes for a weird trip. I went in trying to listen to a song, and instead I ended up on my bed transported to a beach.
Another time I tried Salvia with music ended up with the music feeling like it took forever to end. It felt like I was trapped into a certain time range with the same few notes playing over and over.

Salvia is entirely different. I like to think of LSD as an outward facing drug in that it changes your perception and Salvia as completely inward facing in that any kind of external perception is actually detrimental to the experience.

The useful way of consuming Salvia is in a very dimly lit room or outside at night, possibly near a camp fire. Nobody must say a word. Words really kill the experience because one of Salvia's properties is a dissociative one. The human language has no meaning in a breakthrough SD experience. Personally I only do it alone.

One more thing: Salvia can exhibit a very odd reverse tolerance effect. The same dose is likely to become stronger with repeated use. As if it had to tear down a wall first. You have to try to find its rabbit hole actively.
At some point smoking, or even better chewing, 1x leaves can give you a great experience.
Everyone should try chewing the leaves anyway. Alone, at night. It's the traditional way and it works very well.
