It should be a pretty interesting listen though, considering that Russell Haswell is now apparently a part of the group.
Bennett's got a pretty good taste in collaborators, he had Gary Mundy and Mattin help him put Crowd Pleaser together.

Not an album as such but the Filthy Turd/Torturing Nurse split tape is probably my favourite releases from this yearso far.

New Skullflower is ace as always. As are the Culver tapes I've heard from this year, specifically the 3xC40 Vampires of the Third Reich.

I'm not too caught up with American stuff, though I'm probably gonna place a pretty big distro order soon for new Fag Tapes, AmTapes etc. stuff.

That's noise rock, not noise.
And I never cared much for The Men, not even their earlier more abrasive material.
It just seemed like dull Touch & Go Records/Amphetamine Reptile worship with all the edges that made those labels' releases interesting in the first place dulled out so they wouldn't offend the P4Kfest crowd. Typical Sacred Bones fare.

Though that Uniform band that one of the members of The Men has started with the Drunkdriver/York Factory Complaint guy seems pretty interesting.

I've not really cared for anything Sacred Bones has put out beyond some of the Zola Jesus stuff, the Trop Tard rerelease (albeit digital) and the Religious Knives stuff (though interest in that is diminishing).

I'd say the earlier anon's mentioning of safer AmRep styles with some of their releases is spot on.

I put together a Dropbox album of some lightly mastered versions of tracks I put up on the /noise/ boards as an album called "Prisms Contrasted". Some ambient noise mixed in with rhythmic noise. Not particularly harsh, but noise serves as its main elements.

What do you guys think about Roman Torment, Impregnable, Deep Jew and all those noise bands that emerged in the mid to late 00s, primarly in the US? Many of them switched to drone and ambient.

A lot of people hated them because they were "hipsters" trying to pull, lets say, unrequited love and low self esteem themes, instead of the typical shock value ones like sex, rape, pornography, violence, war themes and all that stuff. Even they're classified as "emo noise" or some dumb shit like that. I personally think they did some great stuff. Anyway there you go...

I announced on my fb page that I'm taking a brief (and I mean real brief) break.
Making that album took a real toll on me physically and mentally, so this is a much needed break. I got some personal reasons why I wanted to put RF projects on hold too.

I'm listening to Amlux by Merzbow. It doesn't get enough attention I think. It's basically a mix of synth drone and noise. I guess people don't like it because it's one of his laptop albums but it's definitely one of my favorites by him.
