I preordered David Tibet's complete lyric book, Sing Omega, a few weeks ago. I can't wait for it ship. It should be happening pretty soon now.I also recently bought the limited edition pink vinyl version of Current 93's latest album and it's in a beautiful folded art print signed by David Tibet and limited to 313 copies.
>>50717002I would pay for that
>>50717095http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1441395/One of the best films of recent years, IMDb plebs can't into it.
>>50716908Why not ?Don't care that it's for pussies some tracks are good, lettre à zoé, voyous, infirmière for example. And it was only 10 euro.>>50716936Yes I like them a lot
>>50717112oh my god seriously stopplease explain the scene where she stands next to the beach while two people die
>>50714608big yes on russian mind man that album is god tier
>>50717133Voyous is their most horrible song, Infirmiere is the only good song on the lp. The're doing the same shit again and again since the clip of Nuit Fauve come out/
Found one of these at a farmers market
>>50717158here's mine sunbather something something pleb.
>>50716311maybe people just like other types of music
>>50717068Oh, and I also got a rare original Canadian pressing of Thank Christ For The Bomb by The Groundhogs. It only cost me $20. The jacket is very thick and rigid, it's a great pressing of a great album. Here it is with the C93 album.I also got the SYRO and the latest µ-Ziq EP about a month or so ago. The µ-Ziq one unfortunately has a severely warped label on side B, looks like it got wet or something. The music plays fine, though, so I'm happy about that.
>>50717240Why so ? It's not because it's their most famous song that it's shit, and georgio is good.+schubert on the back what more do you want ? Infirmière is one of the best yea. And it's the only LP of fauve I ever listen so idk, but yea repetitive group
>>50717151>>>/tv/
>>50717068>>50717390Here's David Tibet's signature, BTW. It's my favorite thing.I forgot to mention that I ordered a Death In June patch, which is now sewn onto the left shoulder of my French M47 field jacket. And on the right shoulder I've sewn a patch gifted to me by a very talented Canadian accordion-punk musician who goes by the name of Feather. He sent it to me along with a free CD. The patch was apparently drawn by a friend of his. It was a very special package from one of my favorite folk punk artists.
>>50716623please buy some plastic outer sleeves for your damn jackets. it's only $25 for 100 and you'll thank yourself in the long run, hell while you're at it, buy some poly inner sleeves too. also grill confirmed
>>50717460fogot pic
>>50717409that sample is so cringy. And it's obviously Nuit Fauve their most popular song. And listen 4000 îles best song of them
>>50716862How is that Gazpacho live album?
>>50716623I made the mistake of getting the RDJ album on CD. I really wish I would have waited to find it on vinyl, because it sounds godly when played at 33 RPM. So much better than the regular speed version.
>>50713512>CDs
>>50713512ordered the Beat Happening s/t off of K records. they have very few left and wont be repressing it any time soon
>>50717553Pretty great if you're into Marillion and more melancholic moments of Muse, PT and Radiohead, the quality of redording is also really good. All the tracks are also from their best 3 albums Night, Tick Tock and Missa Atropos.
>CDstop fucking kek
>>50717661>recordsWhy?
>>50717661>Vinyls
>>50717468Lol are you a pussy ? My records are protected I don't need to protect the jacket, I have more than 100 records and most are really old ones, the jacket is already damagedAnd my priority is to buy a lot of plastic records sleeves, some of my old discs are still in shitty paper one dying with time.see pic related and cry>>50717503Ofc it is, most of their songs are. I wish I couldn't understand the lyrics for some french songs.>>50717555Yes, same, I need it on vinyl too.
>>50717704>>50717718If you're gonna spend money on physical media you might as well buy something that is well packaged with better artwork, instead of something that you can literally burn in a CD drive.
>>50717802Vinyl is harder to get in my country record shops
>>50717841Fair
>>50717802And have worse sound quality and take a gargantuan amount of space comparatively? How about you just save your money instead for something else. I mostly buy rarer CDs that are not available on vinyl in the first place. Pic related, costs more than pretty much any vinyl record I own.>something that you can literally burn in a CD drivekektoppers
>>50717802>something that you can literally burn in a CD driveBut you won't have the CD printing and booklet>implying you would bother with printing that
>>50717869>CDs >rareLmfao some printed note card that has your track list on a CD that some guy burned in 5 mins.
>>50717891>implying he could even pick proper paper for such printsOr hell, find good sources of the prints for acceptable DPIs.>>50717914What the fuck are you talking about
You're Dead! box set.
>>50717891>implying the CD "booklet" is worth having>implying a little booklet is artwork at all
>>50717952I love CDs that include lyrics in them so I can listen along
>>50717952It's just a smaller print compared to a record sleeve. God you're fucking misguided.
>>50716862Lost souls is my favorite doves album, good choice.
>>50718018Yes, they're pretty good band which most people on /mu/ don't l like or know because they associate them with Coldplay and Travis even thought they are way more talented. Also last tim i checked Pitchfork and Scaruffi liked them as well.
>>50717994haha compared to a gatefold 2xLP with large printed artwork and included inserts. Enjoy being a poor fuck with your CDs
All I know is the deluxe vinyl version of Wolf has a giant sticker of tylers head and that is hilarious
>>50718059Joke's on you, I have more records than CDs (as said, mostly albums that aren't on vinyl). Enjoy your fashion accessories.>Enjoy being a poor fuck with your CDsHow does this work? CDs generally cost less money, so me spending money on them instead of records would make you the poor as fuck.
>>50717802>If you're gonna spend money on physical media you might as well buy something that is three times as expensive, has inferior sound quality, requires more expensive equipment to use, degrades with every use, is more fragile, and was left behind technologically 35 years ago
>>50718416>degrades with every usebut that isn't true if you have a decent tone arm
>>50718471>if you have a decent tone arm>tone armMore proof that you don't know jack shit.
Has a lot of neat inserts.
>>50718493>I don't know how a turntable works>everybody look how retarded I am
>>50718471Incorrect. A properly weighted and balanced tonearm will reduce wear and tear on a record compared to, say, a Crosley's setup, but it will still cut the groove every time it is played.
>>50718633Really though it doesn't matter provided that you've picked a proper cartridge for it, which is from where we get to the actual contributor to record wear: the cartridge (and aligning and setting up thereof).>>50718639That's because Crosleys use shitty ceramic cartridges that have like 5-6g tracking force, which is insane compared to 1.5-2.5 that proper setups use. That is what causes record wear. With a good setup, there is still wear but it's mostly negligible.
>>50713985LOOK AT ME, SEE THE LOVE THAT YOURE MISSING
Bandwidth I expected more from you. You've been here a while, gotta ignore those trolls.Havent seen you post in vinyl threads in a while. Your setup change any lately? It always looked very comfy.
>>50713512shit taste
>>50718728Meh, what else am I going to do with my friday evening?I don't post regularly anymore, but I did take this pic some weeks ago. Turntable in the same position, but shelf has shifted its place. Kinda messy in the picture because I was cleaning around.
>>50713512please tell me youve at least got blood sugar already. or that makes this batch even sadder
>>50718758Yeah true that. Do you go to /bleep/ generals at all? You used to rec some pretty fantastic stuff.also I cannot keep liquor on my shelf anymore after a close call. Just having it near my stuff makes me nervous.
>>50718813>Do you go to /bleep/ generals at all? You used to rec some pretty fantastic stuff.Rarely, I'm a /bloop/ man myself (don't have the energy to start up one of those right now though). Always happy to give recs though, heres one: http://www.discogs.com/Nail-Big-Ds-Lounge/master/185971>also I cannot keep liquor on my shelf anymore after a close call. Just having it near my stuff makes me nervous.Oh, did you get a serious intoxication or something? I don't tend to drink in a binge style, just for the taste and slight tingling sensation.Cool reel2reel by the way brah.
>>50718471>but that isn't true if you have a decent tone armif there is friction then there is wear
>>50718899Do you have a discogs? I'd love to browse it.>Nail* – Big D's LoungeThis is awesome. I've been listening to a lot of motor city drum ensemble lately but I want to get more into chicago house like this.>Oh, did you get a serious intoxication or something? I don't tend to drink in a binge style, just for the taste and slight tingling sensation.Nah I was just moving stuff around and almost knocked two bottles onto my table that were on top of the reel to reel. It is a great machine but it sure is finnicky. It's still on my bench waiting on a belt but I think everything should run smoothly once that gets replaced.
>>50719043>Do you have a discogs? I'd love to browse it.Yup, http://www.discogs.com/user/noby/collectionHow about chu?>Nah I was just moving stuff around and almost knocked two bottles onto my table that were on top of the reel to reel.Aaah haha, I completely misunderstoond. Can that thing record also? I really should be get one of those.
>>50719123>How about chu?I have one but I forgot my password a long time ago before I added anything. I'll have to make a new one and add all my stuff to it. Honestly I don't have anything really that impressive and there's not really anything special in my collection but I can honestly say I dont have a single record I hate anymore.>Aaah haha, I completely misunderstoond. Can that thing record also? I really should be get one of those.Yeah it's a three head model so it can record. They are really neat. I bought mine with the intention to use it to rip a bunch of old reels I found but it is a blast to record stuff onto and it has a much more controllable feel opposed to recording on cassette.I think I might just spin records and organize discogs tonight. That actually sounds really appealing right now.
Recently picked up the four tapes, currently listening to BBNG III and loving it.Below if OPN- Commissions 1Above is Deerhoof- For Those Of Us On Foot 7"it's got hand carvings all over both sides and the left and right channels are different tracks so it's twice as long as a normal 7"definitely the weirdest record i own now
>>50714608you're making me cry... :'(
>>50717802>If you're gonna get an OS you might as well get windows 3.1 because it takes the least amount of RAM, instead of something you can literally pirate from a torrenting website
>>50719416Not really that good of an analogy
>>50719380I haven't seen that record physically, but I always wondered if the red bit of the cover is popped out from the rest of the record?

I got the 24 Hour Revenge Therapy reissue (pictured next to my copy of the first pressing).
>>50723633Also got this Mount Eerie - Emptiness flexi disc

>>50723998>guyz I like drugz
>>50723633holy fucking shit MASSIVE jellyis it already available in stores or did you order it? this is the only jawbreaker record i don't have ;_; should i get the reissue/remaster or invest in an original pressing?
>>50723998where the fuck did you find that morgan delt?
>>50724209you're telling me you own a copy of Dear You but not 24 Hour Revenge Therapy?
>>50724242Dear You is pretty widely available, 24hrt the opposite. regardless, i hold this very unpopular opinion anyway:unfun > bivouac > dear you > 24hrt
Just got this baby in
>>50724116Nah, it's a 1972 pressing
>>50724145Pretty much the same as their other reissues. You get a nice inner sleeve with pictures of the band and lyrics on the back (original pressing is just a plain white sleeve).Definitely one of my favorite albums! The original Albini recordings are a pretty cool bonus.>>50724209The reissue will probably be a bit cheaper, and I don't think Adam actually remastered it. I managed to grab a copy for of the original pressing for $31 on ebay a few years ago, but it tends to sell for a bit more than that. A friend of mine got it for $17 at a local record store, which is crazy. The only Jawbreaker album I don't own is Dear You, which is just because I'm kind of lazy (I owned them all on CD before buying records of them). I guess I also don't have the live album, but I doubt I'll ever get my hands on it.
>>50724405>those busy singlesgod fucking damn it the envy is real
>>50724465Haha, yeah. Those are probably my two favorite things that I own. The red one is actually hand-numbered out of 150. These are the other Blake-related things I own. I actually got his and Kevin's signatures on the first forgetters release.
>>50724690ive been slowly catching up with post-jawbreaker releases. definitely enjoyed the first jets to brazil record
>>50724863As far as post-Jawbreaker albums go, Orange Rhyming Dictionary is the best album Blake's released. For Jets To Brazil, I think it goes ORD > Perfecting Loneliness > Four Cornered Night. None of their other albums sound all that much like Orange Rhyming Dictionary, but they're definitely worth listening to. The Thorns of Life (you can find their live bootleg online p easily) were pretty great, and forgetters wound up recording a version of Ribbonhead. They're all worth listening to. Thorns and forgetters are punkier than Jets To Brazil, so if you're looking for something from Blake that's a bit like Jawbreaker, they're the closest you'll get, especially the forgetters EP.
