I've been enjoying the cassette threads lately thought I would start one up. What is everyone's thoughts on the cassette revival? Post you tapes as well so we can check them out!

This is my personal favorite cassette I own

>> No.50666090

I still don't understand why people blindly hate tapes. These are people doing it purely for the nostalgia and aesthetic and they are aware about it. Tapes are fun, records are fun, cd's can be fun.

Keep on keepin on tape threads.

Be ready to have boxes of un-sold music around your flat, also send shit to reviewers like the guy above said, it helps get the word out. Make print out ads (you can fit 4-12 on an 8x11 and print them in black and white) that you can give away at shows or tape to venue bathroom walls with packing tape. Check out your options for production, don't settle for the first guy you find for anything, look around you you might be saving two thirds of what the first guy was asking. Lastly, have fun, this will stress you out at times but you should feel thirsty for a bleach on the rocks at the end of the day, don't take on too much at once and be ready to talk to people.

So I had this idea of starting a cassette tape trading union. Basically, people donate ten of their own releases and for every 5 cassettes they get one from any artist in the union. Yeah but it's always so orderly. I wanted to create a sort of Anarchist chain reaction, in which people simply pick at random what they want for their own music or bring their own cassette players and listen, if they don't like it, they can come back and trade it for another, but there is always enough so that others can keep trading what they don't enjoy for what they do.
