So as the title says i'm going to get a bass but i don't know what the difference is between Fender 62 Japan Reissue Jazz Bass and Fender 62 American Reissue Jazz Bass. please reply ASAP

Don't quote me on this but I've heard the japanese use lower quality electronics, so basically the pickups. Obviously if you can try both that would be a bonus since you would be able to see which one felt better. I'd go for the American one though if I were you (unless the Japanese one has some alluring unique colour scheme or something)

Yes the sound gotta be different. Every guitar sounds different even if it's the same model from the same year. You just need to listen carefully.

If you have the money go for the American. The nitro finish makes it feel like a much higher quality instrument, plus better hardware, electronics etc..

Japanese fenders are good too, but they feel like middle of the road instruments. With the AVRI you feel like you have the best possible instrument in that style.
