| >> | No.50038849 >>50038764 The Queen rode two fashions of the 70s : the hard- rock and glam -rock . They did so with little originalita` (they were certainly one of the most original and complex technically gifted of the time) but with huge success. Formed in 1971 by singer Freddie "Mercury" Bulsara ( also a pianist ) and guitarist Brian May, composed of young graduates of the middle class, the Queen debuted with an album, Queen ( Elektra, 1973) , which boasted a guitar technique of third hand , on the one hand between the comic and melodramatic , and a rhythm section among the most miserable of all time. But the musical content ( cliche` a bunch of more or less random ) was negligible : the Queen became famous especially by bringing the extreme consequences of the teatralita` decadent Slade ( Mercury in reality was inspired by the actress and singer Liza Minnelli ) . In the study group the techniques used massively to overdub vocals and guitar to produce effects that were outside the scope of the musicians. Keep Yourself Alive is the song from the first album and save Seven Seas Of Rhye the hit taken from the second , Queen II ( Elektra, 1974) , yet in the name of rock quell'hard - martial. The second stand some songs less linear than usual (The March Of The Black Queen, The Fairy Feller 's Masterstroke ) , influenced by progressive- rock era that hint at the true ambitions of the group. The album anticipates especially the manic production techniques that will become the hallmark of their albums ( the sound " orchestral " guitar in May Procession ) . |
