It has actually happened /mu/.
I have tinnitus, the ringing won't stop and it's fucking annoying. It doesn't go away too, it'll be with me for life.
Why the fuck did I blast all that pretentious crap into my ears, I never really enjoyed discordant music anyway, I liked those bands because I wanted to like those bands. Why the fuck did I go to all those shitty concerts to listen to a bunch of fuckheads who don't know the first thing about creating a pleasing musical structure. Why oh why did I leave it until too late to realize that pretty much all rock based music relies mostly on image, they recycle the same musical cliches again and again.
Why the fuck did I ever convince myself that the edm I listened to was 'actually pretty well put together' and not just some shitty composition put together by a spotty nerd in the hopes that it will get him laid.
Treat your ears well /mu/. It turns out that good hearing is a finite commodity and most edgy music is made by talentless bozos who rely on pretentious assholes like you to flog their music.
