actually that wasn't me, it was the guy that preceded me. he also got most of the big ones for this fall (Ty Segall, Delta Spirit, etc.), I just started over the summer. Most of the shows this fall are my work though.

If you're interested in getting involved we have an informational meeting on Monday so come check it out.

Also unrelated but if you want to see Bill Nye on the 16th, get there EARLY because the crowd will be positively bonkers.

>>49678577
like I said I just started over the summer. he must be talking about Cloud Nothings a few years ago, because when we had him in April, there were nearly 300 people there.

The only touring acts I've booked that have played so far are Washed Out a few weeks ago, Black Kids last weekend and Matrimony yesterday, they all did pretty good. It can be pretty stressful, especially when you're worried about attendance. But i think most shows are gonna do well this year.

The most packed I've ever seen at CDU was probably Swans or BMSR back in 2012. Surfer Blood and Kurt Vile w/ Beach Fossils last year were pretty packed too.

I realize you're not going to make a life choice based on a conversation on an anonymous imageboard half-dedicated to porn, but I don't really see that as much of a problem. Wages are scaled for CoL, or people would move away or die of starvation/exposure. Admittedly wages are far lower for unskilled labor, but /mu/ seems to have mostly college grads or people in college, and even if in something useless, a degree makes getting a job far easier. Even more importantly, right now is the time to go, given the economy being at a high point. Again, this is in my eyes, and you presumably have different feelings, but I couldn't stomach living somewhere uninteresting for all my life when I could leave.

i mostly agree with what this anon says, i moved away to a big (expensive ;-; ) city for college and supported myself the whole way. it wasn't easy. but it was ultimately the best choice i could have made.

that being said, it really depends on where you want to move to. I would advise against certain densely populated cities just because housing is a nightmare in those places (i made said mistake, currently paying over 2.5k for a tiny apartment). but with some research and dedication, you can get somewhere pretty decent and be happier

You need to see Judas priest on an actual tour. The live performance on a tour is RIDICULOUS. Like 10 costume changes, floor length glitter capes, fire everywhere, motorcycles....just really cool. Trust me, you want to see the live show. Even if you aren't a fan.
