Is this the least hated album on /mu/
the glow pt 2
>>49461697yes, maybe the soft bulletin too>>49461716close
>>49461716eh, it only has like 2 good songs
>>49461697that's an awful album>>49461725>the soft bulletinthat's a bad album>>49461716that's also a bad album
>>49461697from my experience, that would either go to laughing stock or pink moon
if "afrobeat for dummies:the album" is the least hated thing on /mu/ I don't really know what to think of this board
>>49461742not funny or clever
>>49461697They're like Vampire Weekend if Vampire Weekend were distinctive for the reasons people claim they are. Talking Heads are very good, yes.>>49461716Way too bloated. Don't like that foghorn. "Muh panning". Has maybe 5 good songs out of 19(?). The stuff he did under Mt. Eerie is better.
>>49461742>hurr durr look how contrarian and funny i amwhy don't you tripfag too?
>>49461757I'm not trying to be funny or clever, I'm just stating the truth.
>>49461787see >>49461757
>>49461800I genuinely don't like any of those albums and If you can't cope with that then you probably have autism.
>>49461776fuck that particular collection of songs.
>>49461776This is going to be a honest opinion:I feel like it has way too many filler beats, that don't sound finished at all.And don't come with the story behind it, that isn't a valid excuse.
>>49461822see >>49461800
>>49461747pink moon is great
>>49461852I take it you have autism then.
>>49461888see >>49461852
>>49461857>>49461776>posting hip hophip hop is the least well received genre on /mu/
>>49461776this album is mediocre as hell. sucks that Jay Dee was dying when he made it but it feels unfinished and sloppy as hell.
>>49461898>he says he doesn't like 3 mucore albums>he must be pretendingYou see I like avant-garde music: contemporary classical, free jazz, free improv, experimental rock, all that stuff; so it's not really that surprising that I don't like 3 pop music albums, and ones that aren't particularly experimental at that, there's just nothing in them to interest me. How about you stop your autistic fit and I'll enjoy what I enjoy and you can enjoy your mucore?
>>49461697>>49461716>>49461857Yes>>49461765>Vampire WeekendI like them>>49461776The album isn't that good I feel like people enjoy the backstory to this album more than the music itself. I feel like most people only say positive things about this album
>>49461969>i-i-i could never enjoy pop music i'm t-t-too much of a patrician
>>49461857>Boring monotone rap - THE ALBUM
There are probably a lot of albums that are "less hated", by virtue of less people listening to them or having inoffensive (for /mu/ sensibilities) content."Most loved" and "Best Love/Hate Ratio" are even harder to gauge.Julian Koster is one of the most loved artists on /mu/, for good reason.
>>49461776>>49461857I don't like hip-hop to be perfectly honest.
>>49462001I don't like that album, I found it boring and I hate Lou Reed's vocals
>>49461969>You see I like avant-garde music>yfw(i've definitely heard more avant-garde music than you btw. doesn't mean i have to have no taste in pop)
I've seen a lot of hate for RiL. I really can't imagine why.Kid A, maybe?
>>49462077>i've definitely heard more avant-garde music than you btw.
>>49461697Don't jinx it
>>49462082>radioheadhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaare you new to /mu/?it's popular to hate radiohead
>>49462128
>>49462149I hate this album and don't understand why anyone would like it.
>>49462162Yeah Fake Train is way better and maybe the only good thing Unwound have done.
>>49461969see >>49461898
>>49461697>>49461857I can say personally that these are two great answers just because I'm not a huge fan of either and I got annihilated by the hivemind every time I criticize TH's pesduo-Afrobeat or DOOM's one note rhymes.
>>49461725I don't mind the Soft Bulletin but the lyrics always seem so corny to me.
>>49462257>pseudo-afrobeat>they got a bunch of African musicians to work on the albumno
>>49462289i've never seen anyone really talk shit about it though. maybe calling it p4kcore but other than that really nothing to bad
>>49462289I hate The Soft Bulletin from every standpoint. The only good thing I can say about it is that the production is very nice. But even then it doesn't necessarily jive well with the music itself.Fuck The Flaming Lips in general though.
>>49462289the lyrics are overly earnest but that's the appeal of them for a lot of people.I'm more bothered by Wayne's vocals than his lyrics.
>>49462355OCEAN MAN
>>49461969Oh damn, we're all super impressed at how much you hate popular musicMaybe you should take that trip advice so we could all filter your shit
>>49462320Flaming Lips are hit or miss for me. I really like Emryonic, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, At War With the Mystics, and The Terror. The Soft Bulletin is okay. I really hate Clouds Taste Metallic though, something about that album just rubbed me the wrong way and I'm not too big on their earlier post-punk kind of stuff.
>>49462388or better yet, stop posting on a board that is pretty much primarily devoted to popular music. I don't really like top 40 pop but I'd never go to a top 40 pop board and talk shit because I'm not an asshole.
>>49462309>>they got a bunch of African musicians to work on the albumNo they didn't and even if they did that doesn't change anything.
>>49462355This is absolutely one of my favorite albums of all time and also probably one of the most perfectly cohesive albums of all time.
>>49462426This. The RYM avant-teen community is waiting for him.
>>49462149>BWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>49462355this is a great album
>>49462426>>>/http://www.reddit.com/r/lewronggeneration/Stay there
>80's popIt's like the album that invented, say, bubblegum pop. Cool, that's nice and innovative. But who cares. It's danceable, I guess.
>>49462426>a board that is pretty much primarily devoted to popular music>a top40 pop boardYeah, no. Not him but it appears that it is you who should stop posting.
>>49462677go die
>>49461845>him dying from a terminal illness and therefore not being able to polish the tracks isn't an excuse for them sounding unfinisheduh
>>49464027it's not an excuse to give the album a higher rating than it deserves
>>49464290>Not taking historical context into consideration when judging an albumI bet you think music from the 70s and beforehand is bad because it sounds "simple" and cliche
>>49463443what are you talking about
>>49464319nope.
>>49464444>4 4s
>>49464444I can't help but notice that several of the digits on the upper right hand of your post are quite similar.
I've never seen anyone hate this album, the only thing I ever hear is how great it is
>>49464491No one has actually listened to this album
>>49461750What afrobeat would you suggest if I were to actually get into it?
>>49464598What makes you say that?
>>49464688I've never listened to it. I've never seen discussion about it.
>>49464663Not him, but Fela & Africa 70 - Roforofo Fight
This is, actually.
>>49464739You a newfag, nigga.
>>49464598Prove It.
>>49464337Talking Heads' critically acclaimed album, Remain in Light.
>>49464739....it gets talked about ALL the time. Probably one of the twenty or thirty most discussed records on /mu/.
>>49463975Sorry I called you out
fear of music is also acceptable
>>49464892But it's not REALLY talked about. The album art is posted almost constantly, and people offer bland "opinions", but no one has really listened to it
>>49463443>danceableI hope you burn forever.
