Is this objectively the greatest punk album of all time?
"no"
It's one of my favourites. My favourite would have to be The Stooges- Raw Power. It still amazes me, despite the shitty production. James Williamson made the album GOAT.
>>48826370it would be, if it was actually a punk album.
Not even as good as this
>>48826508>punklmao
no.
>>48826532Not even as good as this

can people seriously stop chucking "objectively" out the front of everything just to avoid being attacked for their opinion. saying "objectively" does not stop your statement from being subjective it's still founded on your personal opinion
>>48826370>>48826378>>48826413>the list just goes on and on!
>>48829137objectively good post
>>48829713Ebic! :D
>>48829305but I Against I is better
>>48829778only it's not. if anything Black Dots is better
not sure about the album, but 12XU is objectively the greatest punk song of all time. it's unbelievably simple, but has endless amounts of energy.
no
Yes, unless you're counting Post-Punk.In that case it's Deceit.
>>48829704Mind uploading this? I can't find it on the archive
wire is probably the dullest post-punk band of all timethis is the greatest post-punk album of all time>>48829887possibly this too>>48826508i'm lmaoing at your life
That's wrong though.
>>48829852That's a funny way of saying 106 Beats That
>>48826370>not even Chairs Missing
>>48826370>objectively
>>48826452I love Raw Power but the Stooges' Fun House is way better in terms of manic energy and musicality.
>>48830124Wire isn't post-punk, it's art punk. They're an experiment in minimalism rather than amateurs trying to play prog, which is what most post-punk bands were. That being said, you're right about Metal Box
>>48830177be strongbe wrong
>>48830124Metal Box is fantastic
>>48826370It's a good album but it's hardly real punk music.
>>48826378close>>48829704yes
>>48832148>rather than amateurs trying to play prog, which is what most post-punk bands wereWhat? Which bands were this?
the best proto-punk album, definitely
>>48832208PiL were a bunch of rejects from punk bands and an amateur (yet virtuoso) bassist influenced by experimental music and prog rockbands like the Pop Group, Magazine and Pere Ubu were hardly technically skilled musicians but were influenced by avant-garde and progressive rock
>>48832444Hm. Most of the post-punk I like owes a lot to more to actual punk music, I think. Like This Heat and The Fall
>>48832485That's true, but "post-punk" is a pretty wide and nondescript banner. I'd put the Fall under the art punk description more post-punk.
I always pictured this as the definitive punk album. It encapsulates everything the music and the youth movement stands for. Not the greatest but more of a logical conclusion to punk music.
>>48832589missed image
i mean, if we're being technical about it...
>>48832642... then we would pick something else.
>>48830080Sure, i'm doing it right now
>>48833380do the mega links from the archive not work?
>>48832642Yes,this is the best punk album of all time.
