Is Lazaretto's vinyl copy the coolest fucking vinyl to ever be released?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-8B-_Jq2ro

What are other vinyl records with gimmicky shit like this?

What's cool about it? It's a ploy to sell more albums (at a higher price) without having to rely on any kind of musical talent

Jack White is an arragant douche who has capitalized on the vinyl trend to make more money for himself. Lazaretto is just another example of that

no, its just a cheesy gimmick designed to sell records. jack whites marketing team probably spent more time on the vinyl then he did on his cheesy album.

I actually picked up a copy for myself today. The angel isn't hard to see at all. It's neat as fuck.

The only gimmick I can't get to work properly is the under label groove, and that's just because my record player automatically lifts up the needle and resets itself if it is past the inner loop.

>>48279393
What is so bad about having a bunch of gimmicks included in a vinyl record? Isn't that the whole point of vinyl? To be more interactive than listening to an MP3?

Sure, it's all intended to sell more records but that's like saying the only reason big name actors are included in summer movies is to sell more tickets. No fucking shit.

And the music is actually really fucking good. I have never been a huge White Stripes or Jack White fan but Lazaretto's actual music shocked me by how good it was.

Some records that share the same gimmicks:

Andrew Jackson Jihad/Mischief Brew split with micro grooves that play acoustic/electric

Jeromes Dream/ Orchid split which has both bands on one side. You start it in the middle on either side of a space between grooves. One side plays out and one side plays in. I'm pretty sure that the outside has a locked groove, but I don't really want to dig around for it right now.

Are you kidding me? I've never seen Jack White grin so much in my fucking life. Especially at the end when he says you don't need "a sliderule or a compass to enjoy it" and then remembers that you have to remember to place the needle on the inside on side 1 to get it to play right. He looks so pleased with himself.

thinking vinyl is a 'gimmick' denotes that you obviously don't listen to records, so why are you even in this thread discussing the merits of vinyl production? lose your way faggot? your stupid death grips thread didn't get any replies? your mom's funeral got boring so you're here bothering us with your passive aggressive horseshit? stick to a thread where you can actually contribute something instead hiding behind a shield anonymity in order to compensate for your short ginger penis. maybe /sp/ is more your chimpanzee speed thinking process. perhaps /b/ has some naughty milf pictures that might keep you busy for awhile. anything that keeps you away from the community at large with your stupid bullshit will work just fine.

Nigga, what? I love collecting vinyl. I have about 40 records right now. I spin them quite often. But if you think this vinyl resurgence is due to anything other than it being one giant gimmick, you're delusional. The audio quality argument is complete bullshit. i never liked his solo stuff but I love how Jack White always tries to innovate the music industry in different ways.

He's a real thinking man of the over saturated business although Lazaretto is pretty lame. Love The Dead Weather though.
