When it comes to music that openly praises Jesus I'd settle with Half Handed Cloud's Flying Scroll Flight Control as my AOTY. The album makes use of colorful arrangements and diversity in instruments.

The aspect I find most peculiar about it though is how it can be likened to a classical symphony. Within songs there are movements, and the chord progression is always changing, turning into something new.

It may not be recognized for its genius yet but in time I think it'll be praised in both the secular and religious realms.
