My dad is really into Perfume and asked me to go to one of their upcoming US shows with him. He says that their music is reminiscent of Yellow Magic Orchestra, which is why he enjoys them a lot. However, I haven't been listening to Japanese music all that much, especially since the cloying sweetness of J-Pop just isn't my thing.

That said, I'm determined to try and find tunes I might enjoy, and make the best out of a free concert ticket!

What Perfume songs or albums do you guys recommend?

Will the audience have to do that soto-uchi shit at the live show?

Anyone ever been to a concert with their parents? How did that go?

Yeah, my dad is Japanese so I guess it's not as odd that he's heard of Perfume in the first place. I do find it amusing that the people I know who are fans of Perfume are either total weaboos, or my dad.
