There is something about this EP that keeps it still fresh. The vocal style is definitely folk, however, instrumental wise it's more hip-hop oriented, which I usually meshes well with folk, but in this case it just works perfectly.

Yeah, made me wonder as well, though I'm guessing the mod that deleted it simply assumed that the one from yesterday was still active.

I can definitely understand why they would do that, given the inflation of soundcloud threads that had been going for quite some time, but I don't think they realize that bandcamp threads are usually very different from the SC threads. BC threads don't need active moderation, at least not as badly as SC threads.

Falling in love with this on. The instrumentation on tracks Vor der Imbissbude, Er erzählt and Schöne Eltern haben hässliche Kinder feels very fresh and new. The overall vibe of the EP is also melancholic in a way, thriving off its post-punk influences. I'm definitely looking forward to his next release.

Usually, I'm not really into americana. This album, however, is extremely well produced and sounds very energetic. I mean, the very first track is a blast of an opener and sets off a great mood for the whole record. At the same time, the album also provides you with rather slow and reflective tracks, like Glory Days or Elizabeth.
I'd also recommend you checking them out live, especially if you live in the south of the US.

That was really awesome. My only critique was that it kind of lacked... spice. I think you should try to figure out what you can do to make your sound unique and able to hook people. A good example is the weird scratchy wind/high gain effect that comes in at around 4 minutes. If you have a lot of stuff like that on your LP, then you're in very good shape, and I'll 100% give that a download. If not, then maybe consider it in the future. Don't change too much, though, because I love your sound.

Thanks. Actually, the LP contains a lot more than just that. We have many more psych-70s songs, a really calm post-rockish one, some more doom metal pieces... It really varies a lot.

I mean quality that will draw the interest of the listener. Something really earn you those longer, more toned down sections. Take American Football, for example. On the opening song for their album, they include a candid sounbtire and then they punctuate the drumming pattern by smacking the snare. Immediately, you get this sense of a crisp, live performance feel, and you feel compelled to listen to the rest of the album. I'm not saying you have to squeeze something into your first song like that, but it's always good to place something that sort of acts like a thesis statement for your album somewhere in there, so that people know what they're in for.

Funny, in the last track of the album we added some silly stuff we were doing when recording (the three of us recorded everything together) as American Football did with Never Meant.

The idea was to get a "rough, live" sound because we don't want to bullshit anyone on how we sound. What you listen to in the LP, is what you get when you hear us live. Nothing else.
