The picture I used was taken by myself while I was out clubbing one night in Singapore. I just loved the blurriness and the motion it showed. The faces are vague and almost unrecognizable, which I felt like it kind of represents the feeling of 'Belle'. I also wanted to recreate the design of Joy Division's Closer.

I drew a whole series of animals sitting on cars in different places in the city and this one was one of my favourites. I spent days trying to come up with a drawing that I felt represented the album, but in the end I realised I had already done it with this one, so I added to it to make it square, drew in the speech bubble and it became the album cover.

Hush single: Because we needed a picture and our artist wasn't available to do anything quickly. Four took a camera, a plastic bag, and some fake blood.

Pic related is slightly more interesting. We wanted a picture that could work as a song but without words or music. We experimented with a few things, but eventually Four asked the artist to re-draw this sketch.

Still not much of a reason but there ya go.

I had one of my friends say she was going to do album art for us, but I never heard from her much after that. So I asked a different friend to about a month before we were ready to release the album. She finished half a picture and we never saw anything else from her, either. Then, literally the day before our planned release day, our original artist gave us what we have here. Cut it damn close, though.

I commissioned this illustration from a melbourne artist I found on Tumblr named Eugene Plotnikov. It's supposed to depict the feeling I had when i started smoking weed, walking down the street and feeling like my eyes were disconnected from my brain. And being very conscious of being seen. I was writing some of these songs at the time, and the 10 mental doors stand in for the 10 songs on the album.

Album is inspired by images and events of WWII and we were especially interested in the air combat of that war. This image seemed to summarized all the ideas we explored with this project so far. The album is the result of recording several sessions of blues guitar improvisation mixed with different drone-scape ideas.

Both of my newer albums use manipulated photos of myself as the cover. I've been trying to make it somewhat like Aphex Twin's use of his own face so as to spite the overused "no performers' faces on the cover" trope in electronic music.
