ITT hypnogogic pop
Been digging this a lot recently, as well as Emeralds - Does It Look Like I'm Here.
>>47558871James Ferraro is a god amongst men.Although that said, I think I prefer Edward Flex to Night Dolls
>>47558871BUMPplease /mu/ talk about hypnagogic pop
It's like I traveled back to 2010.
Does John Maus count? I like John Maus

>>47563023What's the lyrics to that badass bridge on Leather High School?
>>47562835I've never heard of it.
I honestly can't make it past Leather High School. I love James Ferraro, but Night Dolls is just so fucking jarring and nauseating to the point where it's disturbing. iasia is my favorite pre- farside virtual release. It's the first time he played around with ideas of consumerism and all the stuff he touches on in FSV, but is probably just dismissed for its wacky cover.

can anyone help a brudda out with a link to Sushi by James Ferraro? The only link in the archive is 128 kbps.
>>47563804stuff like iAsia is what he'll be remembered for. wish he'd go back to doing those fucked up no-fi alternate reality / pop culture noise nightmare soundtracks. it's what he's best at. it's all been downhill since Far Side Virtual. the acclaim he got for that made him think that he can do anything but he's a noise musician at heart.that said, NYC Hell 3AM is good for what it is: a way to induce a panic attack when you cant sleep

What are some entry level albums?
>>47567390Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - The DoldrumsAriel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - House Arrestthis >>47566077R. Stevie Moore - Phonography
>>47567390I think this is the final iteration of the hypnagogic chart we finished on here a while back
>>47567531still don't understand why emeralds is on there
>>47567542As in, why is it on a hypnagogic chart, or why is it an essential album? If it's the former, it's because it's a hypnagogic pop album. If it's the later, it's because it's a great hypnagogic pop album
The Doldrums is one of Ariel Pink's worst albumsno idea why this one is considered one of his best
fake genre
>>47567773all genres are "fake"
>>47567457>>47567531thanks <3
bump for interest. enjoying the shares so far.
>>47567765Agreed. But its what got him on Paw Tracks, which is what got him famous. So its considered his best for some reason despite being one of his worst.
>>47560422Can you or anyone else recommend some music similar to Now You See Me track on Emeralds - Does It Look Like I'm Here?>>47564163Thank you so much for the rec, digging We Are The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves>>47567531Thanks for the chart, I've always loved emeralds and never realised they were hypnogogic.
