Any slowbros out there? Sure, the genre's label is nothing but broad strokes but there's plenty of great bands involved.

Wanted to share my uploaded archive of slowcore bands: https://mega.co.nz/#F!wodxzS5A!VzxfDCeTzI0gds1sWixwQA

Included are plenty of rare Duster stuff; both Valium Aggelein albums, their Rarities comp and the tape Christmas, Dust. Several genre essentials and deeper cuts too.

So tell me /mu/, what's your favorite slowcore band? Kozeleks stuff? (Benji's been all the rage lately) Codeine? Low? Post away.

The Kadane brothers are great songwriters, Bedhead and The New Year are both really solid. Favorite Bedhead album is probably WhatFunLifeWas with Beheaded closely behind.

Here's chart I've seen around. I made one myself that I'll post right after.

I made this maybe a year and a half ago, definitely want to alter some things, but all albums are solid pickups,

Would probably replace Idaho's Year After Year with Hearts of Palm, That Radar Bros album with The Singing Hatchet, and add Valium Aggelein - Hier Kommt Der Schwartze Mond and Braving the Seabed's self titled

Yeah dude, Problem with Me is definitely Seam's best record from start to finish.

I have a hard time choosing a favorite because I love New Year's off of Headsparks and Port of Charleston off of Are You Driving Me Crazy.

Oh, I also wanted to share this: After Bluetile Lounge broke up they formed another slowcore/alt country group called Still.

Never completed an album but recorded this single track. Think of Bluetile Lounge mixed with Mojave 3 and you'll know exactly what you're getting

Slowcore is criminally underrated even on /mu/, it may be my favorite genre after shoegaze.

I agree, I used to post here frequently 2-3 years ago and there was a small following of folks who were big fans and shared a lot. This thread went over an hour without a reply and it saddened me.

Thank you for the Duster rec kind anon in the slowcore general the other day. I love them.

Also, if you're ok with listening to music in Spanish, then pic related is a GOAT slowcore album. Another kind anon rec'd them when I asked for Spanish-speaking bands

This is the only Duster thread I've ever seen on /mu/. Thanks dude. Do you like Contemporary Movement or Stratosphere better?

>> No.47022147

>>47019218
Duster is by far my favorite band. stratosphere was amazing from the very first listen. Idaho is probably my second favorite after them.

>> No.47022203

>>47022113
Contemporary Movement gets my vote, it was the first album of theirs I picked up and I tried to put that first-listen bias behind me when ranking them mentally.

Stratosphere has that amazing sprawl from Moon Age through the Landing, but Contemporary Movement has that gorgeous opening in Me and the Birds, that hazy, rainy day ambiance of Operations and my favorite Duster song, Travelogue.

Sick quints.
Definitely listen to their other album 55:12 if you haven't already. Low has got that male/female vocal dynamic, I'd definitely try out Early Day Miners, they have a similar sort of sound.

>tfw from 4:35 to the end of Jeroen Van Aken
