I hate Morrisey's vocals and these sound exactly like them, so that could just be me. Normally I like repetitive music but this is just dull. I wasn't getting any real vibe or mood from these songs, they sound like diatonic noodling with a specific era pastiche in mind and some thin, anemic sounding effects that worked much better for Cocteau Twins because their songs were stronger.

The tritone is a nice touch in the verses. Could use a little more variation but for what it's going for it's not that bad. The lyrics are immature but they now their demographic, and the guitar tone is fat enough for pop radio, to sound aggressive without being frightening. Nothing particularly terrible, for a pop-metal/rap group. It would have been more effective if they went for Bomb Squad style noisy production but you can't ask that from a mainstream band.

I've never heard this song or PJ Harvey before, but I'm getting a real protest-folk song vibe from this, with a few nice harmonic surprises especially in the verse. The changes in feel are also very well executed. The piano's sudden appearance is very good too, this is nicely layered and composed. Not my usual music but good nonetheless.

This is tonally confused. I like the dance-able, catchy beat and the soft, soothing vocal samples, and I also like the grimness backing it with the crackling lo-fi and the choral ominousness, but they don't mesh well together. I can tell what they were going for, and it could have lent itself to some nice juxtaposition, but this just sounds inconsistent. 4/10

I do like this one better, and I find Clubroot to be a very talented composer. I feel like this has a lot more growth and fluidity than the Ghosts track, and its beat is a lot more sparse, had a lot more build up, and feels like a natural progression of the song, adding to the mood of the song rather than muddling from it.
