ITT: tell us about the last 5 albums you've listened to
EMA - The Future's Void - 4/5, surprised at how good this is, possible AOTY material, love that the project's gotten more ambitious since PLMS
Blood Red Shoes - Blood Red Shoes - 2.5/5
It's alright, I've been following this band noncommittally since 2010, I'll probably listen to whatever they put out next
Mac Demarco - Salad Days - 3.5/5
Don't quite understand all the jazz jizzing over this album, but it's got some strong songs for sure
Split Single - Fragmented World - 3/5
Nothing groundbreaking, but some really solid hooks and has the capacity to get addicting
Hands - The Soul Is Quick - 3.5/5
Expected this to be a bit noisier, but I like that the poppier tendencies of the Field sort of bleed into this album

Probably my favourite Stones album so far. Best tracks: "My Obsession", "Backstreet Girl", "Cool, Calm & Collected"
>Björk - Post 6.5/10, not as good as Vespertine but still pretty good. Best tracks: "It's Oh So Quiet", "Possibly Maybe", "Headphones"
>Wire - Pink Flag 7/10, better than 154 but not as good as Chairs Missing. I liked how concise all the songs were. Best tracks: "Lowdown", "Strange", "Mannequin"
>Andrew Hill - Judgment! 7/10, took me off guard. Needs more listens. Best tracks: "Siete Ocho", "Flea Flop", "Alfred"
>Tortoise - Tortoise 7.5/10, underrated album in their discography. Still not as good as TNT or Millions Now Living but it's growing on me. Best tracks: "Tin Cans & Twine", "Spiderwebbed", "On Noble" |
