What better time for an emo thread than a Tuesday night. What're you all listening too tonight?

Also feels welcome since this is an emo thread.

Yeah I didn't think it was amazing, but at the same time it didn't really come across as contrived, but a lot of the songs were built more around the lyrics and I'm not a huge lyrics fan. That makes sense. I appreciate the music on the last track, "Dendron," the most. The break/slow jam sesh in the middle of the song gave me tingles and the acoustic outro really drove the album home (ha, like no place is there).

Also, I love the interview/monologue with the child at the end of "Among the Wallflowers." The child's voice goes extremely well with the music and the guitar is so melancholy but hopeful sounding at the same time. It's fantastic.

but yeah. I can see where some of the songs are just average.

I wish I could man, we've talked about it but don't really know what to do. She's going to UCLA and I'm going to UC Santa Cruz, about 8-10 hours away from each other. We see each other several times a week because we're taking community college classes through our school and she lives close-ish to me. She doesn't think she'd be able to maintain a long-distance relationship because of how attached we are and if we were to try, it would be a really sad way to end our great relationship if it wasn't working out (which I also am not really sure it will).

California is such a long state. I'm from IL and now live in FL. All three require a lot of driving from city to city.

You can do it. Don't believe in that stupid Nicholas Sparks bullshit like "if it's meant to be it will work out" or like my coworker says, "que cera, cera". Those are mindless answers to not being able to tell the future.

This applies to anything in life (so far, for me): if you really want it to work, you have to try really fucking hard to make it work. Do everything you can so it will work. Don't count on things to fall in place for you! You seem like you've got a good attitude about so I'm sure you'll handle it well.
