Will do.
Zappa general, I guess.

the reflections on the lenses of his glasses looked like eyes on first glance

>> No.45309730

If you start with Apostrophe and don't like it much try his Mothers albums, the humour on Apostrophe is different that the Mothers albums.

We're Only In It For the Money
Then listen to Absolutely Free if you liked the experimental bits, and Hot Rats if you're a pleb.

>> No.45309742

Fillmore East '71 is what I started out on. I don't know if I dun goof'd or not, but it's great. Really gives you a feel for what Zappa and his crew were all about.

No Apostrophe sucks! Sart with the Mothers stuff, go chronologically from Freak Out! to Weasels Ripped My Flesh, but you can skip Ruben and the Jets if you want.

Also his solo stuff is good, start with Lumpy Gravy, Hot Rats, Waka/Jawaka and grand Wazoo, and then a bunch of his other material is worth listening he has a pretty massive discog

>> No.45309780

Start with Sheik Yerbouti/Hot Rats/Baby Snakes
I also like the Have I Offended Someone?, Freak Out!, Apotrophe(') and Joe's Garage Acts
It's all so good tbh, but you should start with Sheik Yerbouti probably

Start with Läther

http://crudblud.sjm.so/FrankZappaLatherLP.zip

It's a quad LP which can function equally well as a complete listen or as four individual albums, and it covers basically every side of his work.

>> No.45310213

Start with <insert 20 different suggestions> it's his best work!

>> No.45310233

>>45309843
is it just me with a bad download, or does lather have really shitty mastering?

besides that lather has some of his all time masterpieces.

>> No.45310393

>>45310233
The original CD is pretty shit mastering, the test pressing rip is good, and the 2012 remaster is serviceable.

>> No.45312206

Over-Nite Sensation, it's the most entry level and still is a great album. Also, of course, Hot Rats.
