Depends what you find depressing though. Personally I find indie pop like Paralytic Stalks to be extremely depressing, the upbeat sound just amplifies the emotion of putting on a happy persona for strangers that'll never care about you anyways.

i agree completely, but i think he did a better job at, not hiding, but channeling his depression into his music. Sure, The Last Three Human Words, It Must Be Raining (Hell, that whole album), and fuckin' Hold On Magnolia make me tear up every time, but it's like...it's like you can hear how hard he's fighting.
