Post Your Most Valuable Record (According to Discogs Median Sale Value)>Captain Murphy - Duality>$189.86
huh wow I almost bought that when it came out but then was like "nah" and now I kinda wish I did
I don't have a photo, but I have a mint ExMilitary. Never been opened, flawless plastic wrap.
>>44053303Also, I have a 7" Arctic Monkeys, "R U Mine" in mint condition.
>>44053291Yeah definitely almost regretted it when I first bought it (was over $40 when you added shipping to Canada) but now I don't regret it at all haha. It's a shame the lowest sale on Discogs is only $1.37 (don't know how that happened), as the Median for this should be much higher. It regularly sells for over $200 and the highest sale is something like $340
>>44053303>>44053355>not posting discogs median sale values
Got an original pressing (though I assume there was only one) of Thumb Days by Shorty (the precursor to US Maple).Cost me $50
The Noteables - Funky FrogCool northern soul/funk 45. Think I picked this up in a box of 45's from a yard sale.$162.96Second is my Faith No Man 7".
>>44053386ExMilitary - $325Arctic Monkeys - $138
The only Vinyl I've got is Steely Dan's Aja.
>>44053455>ExMilitary - $325Median is $139.50>Arctic Monkeys - $138Median is $132.74 (I'm guessing you have the UK pressing)
NIN - The Fragile Median - $198.38 Next-NIN - BrokenMedian - $49.99
>>44053530OK, may be a stupid question, but how are you finding the median values? Also, I have the Record Store Day release of Arctic Monkeys (purchased in Alabama).
Chuck Person - Eccojams Vol. 1median - $20.00 it's worth more than that though, it's because it was initially sold for less a few times shortly after it was released.highest sold for $150
>>44053569Pic RelatedYou can also see it in your collection when you sort by statistics and median value.>Also, I have the Record Store Day release of Arctic Monkeys (purchased in Alabama).US RSD version is around $42
>>44053642Thanks anon. Now is that median price for all formats (including CDs, cassette, & vinyl), or just particular formats?
I don't think I've got anything worth much, lot of old shit I got from my parents, and my newer stuff is mostly represses.A couple may be worth something eventually.
Median - $30 (I'm the only one who's bought it so far and I paid $30)I think it's worth far more, but what do I knowI thought my Failure record was worth more too, but I guess not.

>>44053737Thanks for schooling me, nice to know in case I ever decide to start selling my collection.
City of Caterpillar - s/t>$45.20My Suffocate for Fuck Sake record would be the most valuable, but I got it after they found the stash of them and they were being sold for $25/$30.>>44053566Fuuuuuuck I'm so jealous.
>>44053624howmuch, i'llbuy.my most valuable is also chuck p.
>>44053751
Damn. I'd never looked up what it's worth, but I've got an original pressing of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Street Survivor's.Ain't worth dick. Thought it might be worth more since it has the flame cover.

does /mu/ like to use popsike to price their records. I think it's more accurate than ebay/ discogs.
>>44053874c ool thanks
>>44053768Yeah man.Keep in mind Discogs is only a decent gauge for judging prices if that particular version has sold a substantial amount of times that some real data can be compiled to come up with a median value. As >>44053708 said he's the only that's bought that over Discogs so far so the median price is just what he paid for it.
>>44053841

how much do you think a ITAOTS gatefold signed by all for members would go for?the only comparable sale i can find is like $900 and that seems a little high

Median is £60 or $99ishAudiophile edition is close to double that though.
Hellogoodbye - Would it kill youRegina spektor - begin to hopeThe median on discogs is pretty low but I've seen both go over $150
>>44054137That's why we're doing medians, everything will go for more than its worth from time to time. The Max value on my Duality is over $150 more than the Median price and it's my most valuable record.
I don't feel like taking a picture but Arca's "&&&&&&".Only 500 of them out there. I guess it'll be worth a lot soon.Maybe.
Damn.TTYG Median - $45.49 FUCT - no median, but one listed at $50 and another at $80I didn't expect that considering they're both represses.
>>44053978
Pink Floyd - The Film (the soundtrack to the movie on 2xLP)Median is $48 but the current ones are going from $67 and I see it on eBay in NM condition (mine is also in NM) for about $130. Discogs typically has better prices than eBay in my experience.

isnt it the best feeling when you get some limited record for cheap off the artist's shop and then find it mad expensive online because its sold out?>i think so
>>44053240HAHAHAHA, wtf. How are you supposed to play those square vinyls?
>>44055006I have this and I got it for £14, but there's only one copy of the UK press on discogs and it's up at £82.48 and a US press is up for £42.92, but they last sold at considerably less so it's probably just some faggots and their wishful thinking

>>44055174Really? I think it's great
The mask has slipped guys, the rest of us are onto how your "hobby" is really just a wilfully snobby pissing contest over who is the most super seriously into music and that there's almost no discernible difference when you play either vinyl or a decent quality MP3 through normal, bedroom-sized speakers. If you're spending 100 bucks a month on vinyl and you're still living like a student at 27, you're a fucking idiot. Argue about that statement from your grubby rooms while I play Bushwick Bill via Spotify Premium on my Bose Soundlink speakers in a crowded hotel room in Amsterdam on a super-fun mini-break I paid for by not spending all my money on making sure the people on Discogs.com thought I were 4real. I don't know if they'll still retain their value, so far as I know the ones that were going for $30 were part of the original batch but the distro that was meant to be putting it out folded for whatever reason and only a few got sent out, l'oeil du tigre eventually ended up buying what was left to sell on
>>44055304One of my favorite things about BC artists are when they have physical media to put out.Not only is it guaranteed to be cheap but you're supporting that band directly.Man, I sound like an ad but it's true.

>>44055405I don't suppose you have any idea what actually happened to Suffocate? They released that one demo/EP and the full length and then seemed to just drop off the face of the earth, Blazing Fires would probably make it into my top 5 albums, I'm torn between feeling like it sucks that they didn't make more music but that it makes what little they did produce more special

>>44054095>>44055563Cool, guys. Jealous. Have you heard the tuss? it was an anonymous album released in '07 but it features a really rare synthesizer wich one of 3 in the UK is owned by RDJ and he played one of the songs live 2 years prior to its release. alot of other evidence suggests its him too. check it outhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hviy8IM_D8wI have The Tuss album i was just talking about i have an original issue of loveless (in the case) its in alright condition. original tremelo ep and glider single. the 2004 reissue of isnt anything and the loveless bootleg.
>>44056571An American label called 1972 did a repress of it, but it's sourced from the US CD so it doesn't include Stone in Focus and Hankie.
>>44056784Jelly of the tuss record. I still need to listen to it though.
>>44056784nice, whats the difference between the bootleg and official one
>>44056823Its pretty awesome. I posted the link to it
>>44056784hows the bootleg? considered buying it but decided against it
I purchased the limited edition clear pressing of the devil and god... that was released last october blindly on a whim for $40. I took it out and played it once and even took off the sticker on the cover so it isn't worth the $65 median that discogs has it going for but still it's gotta be worth at least $50. I just loooove clear vinyl sooo fucking much tho and it's my only record worth more than $40 so I probably won't end up selling it. Also got an offical sublime bootleg from when I was 15 and a major pleb but it's p rare and worth at least $50 even though it's just a cd, can't find it on ebay and it's not on discogs though.
>>44056794Yeah, I saw that one. But no Stone in Focus is a deal breaker for sure.
>>44054957Yes, I have. It's VG+.Be assured, I know more about collecting records than you.
i cant find the median on this thing, but it going between $100 - $200 on grade. I would say near mint .. in the original shrink.Naked City S/T
>>44056784Rushup Edge is some of RDJ's best work imo. Been eyeing it up on Discogs recently but not sure if I'd be prepared to drop £40ish for it.
>>44057010Didn't that album get pressed on 3 lps? A bit much for a 32 minute album.
Apparently the median value for this is really low, but I don't know why.
>>44057261Yeah, it's one track per side on 45rpm I think. Pretty odd but that's RDJ I suppose.
>>44057016Its cool. Sounds alright. The sticker looks different and it says "Made in 2013 in UK" on the back. Kevin is going to re-issue it soon though. Before the new EP comes out. Remastered. And its gonna be from the master tapes to the vinyl. I'd wait for that its gonna be awesome.
>>44057313yeah this is correct.
>>44057290according to Discogs it was only released on vinyl in 2010, and it's on a major label and not an RSD exclusive, so it's probably pretty readily available
>>44057320source? i was hoping on that but i was also considering paying for the og pressing, as it supposedly sounded bettereven though it costs >$100 on average
Exmilitary
>>44057320if it's coming from analog, it'll probably be superior even to the original pressing, which was DMM mastered, and i assume from DAT like the original CD
>>44057083>mfw I just realized I have a copy from the first pressingFor some reason I thought it was a repress. The sticker situation with your pressing was such a dumb fuckup that happened.
>>44057378>it's probably pretty readily availableIt isn't. I'm not sure how many they pressed, but it wasn't a lot.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Failure-Fantastic-Planet-2-LP-Vinyl-/331110905864
>>44057419hell yeah, thats why kevin wants to do it. pretty stoked.
>>44053642I'm the guy that sold it for $150, enjoy your easily duplicated j-card and tape.
>>44055427perfect pussy started out on bandcamp and now they're getting pretty big
>>44057499Yeah, I actually just checked the Discogs price history and they rarely show up there. The price has exploded since 2012.
>>44057320Hoping that repress doesn't take too much longer then. Especially since the bootleg is so readily available at the moment.
>>44055091I have that.disregard the other records. But the SFH first press there is also pretty valuable.
>>44057634Hoping so too, it should be here by now but you know kevin:) there hasnt been any interviews or articles lately and they havent been posting on their facebook so i get the feeling he's up to somethin.
>>44057161I know original shrink is a selling point for some people, but if it were me I'd rip that open and put it in a clear plastic sleeve right away. All shrink does is warp and literally "shrink" over time, causing warps and bends and crumples and creases in the jacket all along the way.
