I'm 22 this year, been to university once for a Chemistry degree and got kicked out in my first year.

I'm looking at doing a maths A Level (kinda like a AP class in America) and going back somewhere for chem eng but I just feel so old compared to the 17/18 year olds that are starting out. Blueegh.

I'd say the first year or so might be odd when you're lumped in the huge classes with every eng. and nat. sci. major on campus, but once you get further into the program you basically know everyone and they're mostly chill peeps, so no one will care if you're a bit older. I graduated a couple of years ago. Took a little while to get a job. Especially with consulting.. they might ask you about a scenario in which you have to provide a general sampling protocol, what you'd sample for, what equipment you'd use, that kind of stuff. I wish I could remember what I was asked in my interview. They don't expect you to go in to your first job knowing everything. I was worried about that too.
