I mean, don't get me wrong. I like most of the /mu/-core albums, but this is the thing. The first time I listened to most of them was roughly 6 or 7 years ago, either from the first time I heard Court of the Crimson King, OK Computer, Kid A, Kanye's albums, MBV, or MPP when it first came out. I think I first started browsing this board when I was 18 or 19 (22 now), and even then I had listened to most of those albums in my teen years. It's not that they're not good, it's just that I think if you truly love music, you'll value those albums you like but constantly strive and search for more music and to hear more diverse sounds. Your taste in music evolves. To me, becoming a patrician simply means understanding more about the kind of music you like, finding more music you like, and basically having a very diverse taste and being able to discuss music with almost anyone.
If you had told 15 year old me I'd grow up to be a noise fanatic, I would have never believed you.

Because, autists have more determination to acheive their dreams than normal people. Make fun of the pony obsessed failures as much as you want, the fact is I've met kids who were 18 years old with obvious Asperger's who are all of a sudden getting jobs at Apple and Google because they're literally so good at programming, these companies want to grab a hold of them as early as they can.
And pretty much an autist who actually develops talent for whatever their interest in, can usually become a successful person.
Really, most people are incredibly distracted. Distracted by friendship, distracted by sex, distracted by food, sleep, television, whatever. Autists are usually the ones who will fight against those distractions (or it might be better to say, they pay them little/no attention) and submit themselves wholeheartedly to whatever it is they find that captivates them. They can be more fervently religious than the pope, you see, without needing a belief in god.
For Kanye, it was music and his aesthetic senses. He just would not be able to do all the things he does if he were not this obsessed.
