For the most part:

Music Folder/Artist - Album Name/Songs+Album Art+etc.

iTunes does it automatically

One folder with Torrents
One folder with Downloads, then:
Artist name - Album name/ Album+cover+album art+ playlist

The compressed folder is only there because I've shared the album in share threads.

It's just easier to manage. Plus I go through phases where I am in the mood for a certain style of music and it's nice to have it all together.

>> No.41064733

Yup! It should still be in the Archive, but if it isn't, let me know.

>> No.41064778

>>41064729

Yeah, but your media player can organize it all by genre. It's in the tags.

>> No.41064794

I have a music folder with a bunch of miscellaneous music stuff in it, then I have a folder called My Music that I don't quite understand but it seems some of my music goes there for some reason. Then in the normal music folder I have another folder for the stuff I download from soulseek which is not organized at all. Also for some reason some of my music found its way into the My Documents folder which I don't really get but I've decided to just ignore it.

my music library is pretty big so i have a lot of artists (well, it used to be, i recently lost a lot of files i didn't have backed up), so it makes it easier to find stuff quickly, especially if i'm giving music to a friend on a flashdrive or whatever (which happens a lot)

Artist - Album Name (Year)

I'd like to have songs organized like "0X - Name" but I have so much music so it would be so long to retag

>> No.41064899

>>41064831

If you're giving music to a friend, then you already know what artist you're after. Why is going through extra folders easier than just knowing the freaking alphabet?

>> No.41065105

>>41064709
Why not? It keeps the artists' discography organized chronologically.

>> No.41065158

>>41065105

Why is that necessary though? Why not just have the year on the album folder? "Album Name (year)". Seems like an extra, unnecessary step.

Or rather, (year) Album Name, that way it does what you're looking for.
