How do you organize your music, /mu/?
>>41064317poorly
Decade>Year>Album
For the most part:Music Folder/Artist - Album Name/Songs+Album Art+etc.
Artist folder -> Album folder -> tracks
iTunes does it automatically
>>41064412>backseat bangerz
In foldersMusic/Genre/Artist/Album
Artists alphabetically -> Albums by year -> Tracks by track number
One folder with TorrentsOne folder with Downloads, then:Artist name - Album name/ Album+cover+album art+ playlist
>>410643171 playlist for songs that I like. Then 1 playlist per album.
artist → albumalphabetically ordered
Music Folder > Artist Folders > Album Folders
The compressed folder is only there because I've shared the album in share threads.
/music/genre/subgenre (sometimes/artist
Music > Artist > AlbumThen I have a separate folder for album art, though I've been thinking of moving each to their respective album folders.
>>41064468>>41064618What is the point of having genre folders?
Music>Artist>Year>Album>Tracks
>>41064669>yearwhy
>>41064540spotify not having a repeat option is a bit shit, yeah.
How do you name your music files, /mu/?
>>41064574Can I have this album? pls?
>>41064666It's just easier to manage. Plus I go through phases where I am in the mood for a certain style of music and it's nice to have it all together.
>>41064714Yup! It should still be in the Archive, but if it isn't, let me know.
>>41064729Yeah, but your media player can organize it all by genre. It's in the tags.
I have a music folder with a bunch of miscellaneous music stuff in it, then I have a folder called My Music that I don't quite understand but it seems some of my music goes there for some reason. Then in the normal music folder I have another folder for the stuff I download from soulseek which is not organized at all. Also for some reason some of my music found its way into the My Documents folder which I don't really get but I've decided to just ignore it.
>>41064317>Folder [Music]Inside it there's a folder for every album I own named with>Artist Name - Album Name
>>41064794reading this pains my brain
>>41064666my music library is pretty big so i have a lot of artists (well, it used to be, i recently lost a lot of files i didn't have backed up), so it makes it easier to find stuff quickly, especially if i'm giving music to a friend on a flashdrive or whatever (which happens a lot)
>>41064825I'm not sorry.
>>41064778I like folder navigation better.
>>41064794>>41064802>>41064669>>41064519>>41064468>>41064450>>41064412>>41064375>>41064347Disgusting.
Music/ArtistName/Year - AlbumName/Songs+cover.jpg
Artist - Album Name (Year)I'd like to have songs organized like "0X - Name" but I have so much music so it would be so long to retag
>>41064831If you're giving music to a friend, then you already know what artist you're after. Why is going through extra folders easier than just knowing the freaking alphabet?
>>41064709Why not? It keeps the artists' discography organized chronologically.
>>41065105Why is that necessary though? Why not just have the year on the album folder? "Album Name (year)". Seems like an extra, unnecessary step.
>>41065158Or rather, (year) Album Name, that way it does what you're looking for.
I hate it when I have an artist that released two or more albums in the same year.
Music \ Artist \ (Year) Album \ Songs+cover
d:\music\artist\album\00 title.mp3
~/Music/Artist/Album/01 - Song.flaconly way to do it :^)
>>41065158>>41065206That's what I meant.
>>41064317I don't
I listen to music on Youtube.
>>41064899they're often asking for stuff of a certain genre rather than specific artists, and i do shows at a radio station so it's often other hosts asking for music, so it's way easier to look through a folder for a genre then scroll through all the artists
>>41065364I have many many youtube playlists.
>>41065284>.flactotally necessary to say you have thrice bigger file just to think you listen to best quality lel
then the albums in the artist folderare there seriously people who don't do it like this?
>>41065432Fair
>>41064317
>>41065437>"I'm too poor for a bigger hard drive, so ill just listen to my 192kb music, Much better than those bloated flacs" sry m8. thats all i hear from you
music folder / Artist / [year] Albumit's by no means a flawless system but it works
>>41065511I have 6 TB of space. I still use v0
>>41065511>implying you are rich>implying only rich people listen to .flac>implying 1TB HDD is a lot of spacek.
>>41065535I guess we're also having a library thread
>tfw only 5500 track collection
>>41065511320 is the only way to go. There's literally no reason to choose flac over lossy.
>>41064421this is the only correct way to arrange your music
>>41065535This is how I'd like to get mine eventually, maybe the next few days when I switch hard drives
