Pop punk is the most horrific forms of commodification I have seen. Take punk, something so bluntly reactionary to commodification, niche marketing, and capitalism, and then market it to teenagers as using these three things in the process. Most of Ska treats music as a joke or a medium of comedy. They don't take the art seriously so no one can take them seriously. Which results in a shallow genre. But it still isn't the worst. Just really close to the bottom.
