To those new to these threads, I operate a planetarium in southwest Florida every Sunday, and when I am not teaching the audience about astronomy and the space program, I play music for them. I have been collecting albums from /mu/'s recommendations because the albums that were there when I started working were mostly worthless, so I come here every Sunday before I start work to get some submissions and let you guys vote on those submissions to decide what I'll be playing today for my audiences

Rules of the competition are in the next post
| >> | No.40691856 The competition has changed slightly, to accomodate for samefagging and a thread that can possibly reach the post limit (which really worries me). For the first hour (9AM EST to 10AM EST) everyone will submit albums and vote on which ones they think should be played in the planetarium. So in a way, the first hour is quite literally the same as the way this competition used to work. However, after the first hour, submissions will end and a strawpoll will be created so that everyone can vote on the top 10 albums. Those albums are determined by whichever received the most votes in a thread, and while samefagging is still possible, it won't do much good considering any album is capable of getting in the poll so long as it has a vote. From there, everyone can vote in the straw poll only once, and at 11AM, the winner will be determined. In the event of a tie (which happened when I first tried this), I will do a roll and designate each album to "evens" or "odds", and whatever my last post number is will win the competition.
I know things are a little more complicated than they should be, but I want this to be a fair game, and some people just don't play fair. Otherwise, I look forward to making these threads every week and I am so glad to have everyone participate! |
| >> | No.40692629 >>40692567 I'm not American and I'm not 100% sure what a BA is, but if it's in Chemistry, it's hardly worthless. Chemical engineering is a good field, a lot of opportunities there. I'm just getting a Bachelor of Science with a genetics major, I'm thinking of using that to get into post-graduate med, but I don't really know. Chemistry was an interesting field, and I would've majored in it, but in the end genetics won me over, (fuckin' nucleotides, man. God damn.) If you're ever in Adelaide, we'll go see some comedy at the Rhino Room and then go drinking. This offer is in addition to my offer of if I'm ever in Florida. |
| >> | No.40692744 >>40692681 Oh, I guess that sucks they only offer a Bachelor of Arts. I guess that would limit your possibilities, although I really don't know what the situation is in the US. Like I said, though, Chemistry is a pretty lucrative field, I'm sure you could find a pretty decent career there. If it's a model UN, I imagine a trip to Aus would go to Canberra. If you have free time, feel free to make the trip over to Adelaide, we'll go drinking. Just me, you, the other 2 /mu/tants from Adelaide, #Based TayTay on the jukebox, and enough alcohol to kill a small elephant. We'll tear that shit up. |
