Doesn't it annoy you when hip hop or modern rnb artists do this "8 songs in 1 song" thing?
>Marvins Room / Buried Alive (Interlude)
I skip through Marvins Room for Kendrick's part every time.
>Pusha Man / Paranoia
I only listen to Pusha Man.
>Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst
Just why? This should've been two songs as well.
>Cameras / Good Ones Go
Good Ones Go is a fucking disaster, Cameras is a masterpiece, I only listen to that part.
>LoveStoned / I Think She Knows
This really frustrates me as well, first part of the song is boring, generic, repetitive shit, I Think She Knows is amazing though.
It's alright when artists like GY!BE do it, maybe because they've been doing it from the start, and it fits their concepts, but it serves no purpose in mainstream music. It's just stupid. It has no point, those are two entirely different songs, nothing connects them, there's no unique concept or anything, it doesn't work.
I'll eventually have to split the songs myself.
| >> | No.40192152 >>40192027 Who gives a shit, why do you listen to those people in the first place? It's your fault.
First off, Drake was always mainstream and he always sucked. He's a disgrace to rap. Fuck him. I hope he dies a horrible death. I have no idea how he convinced people that he's a true "artist" and that his music is art. The bulk of his material sounds soft and gay. Drake is a corporate, fully-manufactured-by-record-company asshole.
Second, Kendrick Lamar is gay. He probably sucks Drake's cock. If Drake didn't feature him on his album he would have never blow up this much.
Third, Acid Rap is garbage, Chance is a terrible rapper, and he sings more often than he raps on that record, his ad-libs are annoying as shit.
Fourth, that JT song is amazing, and it should be that way, it's like that for a reason, and it's supposed to prepare you for the best part of the song. JT is one of the only good mainstream artists. Shows how much you know.
Fifth, GY!BE's songs could have easily been split, but they kept that track length to keep the pretentiousness and veil of "mystery" behind them. Not even Sunbather was nearly as bad as Lift Your Shitty Long Pretentious Album Name because it didn't take itself as seriously as Lift Your Shitty Long Pretentious Album Name did. With GY!BE there was always this overaching vibe of LOOK AT ME I'M A GREAT POST-ROCK EPIC when really it was just rehashed shit I'd already heard a hundred times over in Glenn Branca's or Swans' music or whatever have you. At least Deafheaven had good instrumentations story with some legitimate feels in it, even if it was very amateurish overall. Deafheaven didn't claim to be any more than it was, whereas Lift Your Shitty Long Pretentious Album Name or any of their other albums for that matter was too far up its own asshole to realize that it was in fact shit.
Sixth, why isn't GY!SHIT, since it's too popular, regarded as basic pleb stuff on /mu/, yet? But Radiohead for some reason is? |
