I've started to collect records month ago. What do you think? Post your whole collection.
>beatles>michael jackson>animal collectiveI hope you didn't actually spend money.

>>39790761>that books box setjelly as fuck
>>39790766
>>39790748Where'd you get that BMSR thing that's on the shlef in the background?
>>39790776are you the guy who made a thread about being too obsessed with BMSR yesterday?i just ordered my dandelion gum cassette too im happy
>>39790776>>39790782The Kickstarter they did last October. I had the $75 or something option (Mask+CD) and did the upgrades to get the record and the EP.
>>39790822This isn't all my collection, by the way, just my favorite parts of it. I'll prolly make a complete imgur album or something eventually instead of spamming threads.>>39790813Nope. I think I posted in that thread, though.
Gotta take a new picture I guess, almost completely filled an Expedit square now! Gimme a sec.>here's the most recent pic of setup, for comparison>>39790761Goddammit, I want that The Books-set (ho ho) so much. But it's like 170 euro at the least. How much did you pay, and where'd youg et it..?
>at a thrift store>see Mike Oldfield - Tubular bells>buy it for a quarter>take it home>pull out the disc>it's Motown
>>39790968>not looking at the disc in the storeu must buy a lot of scratched vinyl m8
>>39790982I don't usually pick up vinyl from thrift shops, so I didn't know back then.
>>39790942Here's what it looks like now. I have a cello now. And I put some posters up today. Looking much better.
>>39791031Vinyl stuff.
>>39791051CD stuff
>>39791065>Noisia - Spilt the Atommuh nigga
>>39791102The packaging is splendid, I highly recommend getting it. I sorta want the vinyl releases too tho.
>>39790867>dat Black Foliage>dat DopesmokerVery jelly. I have both on CD for car rides n' shit, but it would be so nice to own on vinyl.>>39790942Very sweet set up, dude. Mine is pretty similar, even the color of the furniture, except I have floor speakers and a turntable. I have a shelf for my CDs like you have. Where to cop? Did you build it, bought from Ikea, or what?
>>39791121You have your turntable on the floor..? Huh.I don't know where my CD shelf's from, I just got it cause my sis is moving to the US for a year. It's really great.
>>39791152I meant I have floor speakers (Pioneer CS99-A) as well as a turntable. I didn't notice you also had a turntable on your shelf there. Nice dude, I gotta get me one of those CD shelves.
lol puny collections
>>39791200Oh, right. I never really play loud music, so these speakers are just fine. Not much sub, but eh, I'm liking them. Dali something.
>>39791243All massive collections start somewhere.
>>39791243>doesn't post collection
>>39790867I saw Black Foliage the other day at a vinyl convention. Was pretty cool. How much'd you spend on it?
>>39791269Who are you quoting?
>>39790867How much did you pay for black foliage? I'm always looking out for that, thinking I might just buy it online.
>>39790421lol such terrible taste amirite
Why doesn't anyone listen to their records through headphones?
>>39791323Cause I don't want to sit right by my amp.
>>39790776you have fucked up friends?!
>>39791121>>39791284>>39791308I payed $20 on ebay. I figured I was buying the regular Chunklet repress, which I was correct in assuming. However it wound up being a limited edition copy. The clear purple vinyl is so dark that it looks like it's regular black without a little light shining through it.
>>39791369Maniac Meat is the rarer one.
>>39791351Cables exist.
>>39791351My headphones have 3m cable I don't have to sit near my amp
>>39791323I listen to them on either speakers or headphones. Depends how I'm feeling and what I'm listening to, really.
>>39791376I saw it for $18, but I dunno what pressing it was. That sounds real cool tho, nice.>>39791393>>39791395Well, mine's not that long and I don't want to extend it. Also, the freedom of being able to leave the room and still hearing it spinning is quite nice.
go ahead tell me i have bad taste.also, coquelicot is an original pressing colored vinyl. its awesome.(i just ordered a couple james blake lps and elliott smith lps)
>>39791453I'd hang out with you, just so we could listen to Joanna Newsom in silence.Damn, I want that album. It's next on my to-buy list; both Have One On Me and Ys.
>>39791447Probably the normal chunklet reissue. I wound up finding it in my local record store for $20 for the regular and $50 for the limited edition for both Black Foliage and Dusk at Cubist Castle. I'll probably pick up the regular copy of DaCC next time I go there if he's still got it, definitly won't get as lucky as I did on ebay with Black Foliage...
>>39791453Trick question. Dream pop fans have no taste ;)
>>39791518I got it for $5 new cuz i decided to trade in a bunch of old blu rays. I got $20 store credit so i decided to spend it on something expensive. So happy with it.
>>39791641Oh wow, oh wow indeed.
I've been waiting for this day...
>>39791743
>>39791774
>>39791791
>>39791810
>>39791831
I'm fairly new to vinyl. Here's most everything I have that isn't thrift store fodder.
>>39791827I still want to come to your place sometime to listen to bluegrass.
I have individual pictures of my collection, big collection photos suck. Here's my list tho: http://www.discogs.com/collection?user=CaptainKhuntbucketi'm selling the Aphex, Fall of Efrafa, and a couple others I don't listen to on ebay pretty soon if you want anything hit me up and I'll let you know if it's for sale and throw it on ebay
>>39791853>TFW you witness someone paying 40 dollars for Daft Punk's worst album on vinyl
>>39791853>ITCOTCK>Not thirft store fodder
>>39791896What's buying from Discogs like? Is it good?
>>39791857tfw strider lives on another continent as me and will probably never get to chill and listen to bluegrass records together>>39791926mfw people pay 20+ for a reissue that you can easily find an early copy for in at least decent condition for less than $10
>>39790403>>39790428i'm oging to find you and kick your ass OP
>>39791961I have a question too, can you pay with paypal without a paypal account like you can with eBay?
>>39791961I've only bought from there a few times. Had some good experiences and one bad one (I paid and he never shipped), but it's all through Paypal so if that happens they just give you your money backpic relaetd, was a Discogs purchase
>>39791977:(There are hardly any cool Danish /mu/tants, that I know of.
these photos are actually really bad I'm sorry
Have another two hundred or so on my attic. Can't lay everything down lel
>>39791961I've only used it once to buy some XTC/Talking Heads singles, but it was fairly pleasant. What's nice is that you can look for the exact copy you're looking for. In my case I wanted a UK pressing of the Making Plans For Nigel single off XTC - Drums & Wires cause it originally came bundled with my copy of D&W.Since I was paying extra for overseas shipping anyways and the price per extra 7" was like .50 pounds I decided to tack on another XTC single and two Talking Heads singles the guy was selling. I paid via paypal, messaged the guy that I did so, and he sent them and they came in perfectly fine like a week or so later. Also Banjoman, could you rec me some bluegrass? I always wanted to get into it but I never went farther than Steve Earle & The Del McCoury Band - The Mountain which is more contemporary and a lot more country...
>>39792164Flatt & Scruggs is a good place to start, their album At Carnegie Hall is probably one of my favorites. Don Reno & Red Smiley are also some of my favorites, try to find some compilation of theirs. There's one called "The Very Best Of" and it's like 42 tracks or something and it's really great.
>>39792361
>>39792361>try to find some compilation of theirs.
>>39792575dude they're a group from the 1950s and released singles, there aren't any actual albums
>>39792696What's the difference in the two Free Jazz records?
>>39791827do you play them often or just collect them, just asking bro
>>39792361Aight, thanks
>>39792738One is an original 1959 mono with a die cut gatefold cover and the other is just the newest reissue.>>39792921Both. Of course I don't play them ALL regularly, but I try to make time to play at least one or two per day. I have played each one before.
>>39792921and how many can i find at the thrift store
>>39793142Depends on where you live. Some thrift stores may carry some stuff that I have (if you're lucky enough), but generally the records I have are less common than your average thrift store finds, save for my collection of 50s and 60s pop-folk and country. I have a ton of crappy thrift store-core that's not on those two shelves and I'm probably going to get rid of them soon.
Recently found at the record store. Some of the dollar-bin stuff will probably only be used for mixes and scratching, though.
>>39793679>kobïafuck yeah
>>39793841Nt only is the album great, but the packaging is awesome too. These goddamned flaps ar so simple and yet so clever...
>>39793910where did you find it? been looking for that shit forever
>>39793736w-where'd you get the deafheaven/bosse-de-nage split
>>39793953Just at the usual record store, in their "reissue" crates in France [/ohwaitwhatspoilers]They have tons of Magma in there. Clear, reissued, original... So I started with the first album...>inb4 this faget didn't get all of the Magma
>>39791919not that guy, but I got it for like 15 bucks the first week it was out. 40 dollars? Fucking suckas
>>39794065For some reasons, Daft Punk is ridiculously overpriced. If it's new, it's always a good 27€/$35. Okay, most of their stuff only fits on two discs, and they are gatefold, but still, that's a damn lot of money.
http://www.discogs.com/collection?user=r0nin94Been going for about a year or so.It's expensive.
recent favorite purchases>that fucking coil
Still waiting for my Boards of Canada reissues.
>>39790403Nice start!
>>39791961It's really good. Shipping is pricy, but I prefer it over something like Amazon
oldish and not very good pic
>>39790403horribleseriously, get some better taste
i got like 20 more since pic was taken
>>39794795some of my faves
>>39794795You seem like an awful person.
>>39791853boring
>>39794851why :(
>>39794708Some jazz purchases recently, originals mostly.
>>39794977niceis that Coleman on the dark blue label?
>>39795077Yeah, that one is in addition to the upper-right Art Ensemble Of Chicago record the only reissue (from 1973). Amazing condition though.
>>39795129Not bad at all, great finds.
>>39795224all that dadrock
