Hello /mu/ I am looking for albums that contain a story. The first album that I encountered that told a story was American Idiot, and it's a really good album, so I am looking for more.

I just found what the album falls under which is a "rock opera."

A rock opera is a work of rock music that presents a storyline told over multiple parts, songs or sections in the manner of opera.

Now, really I'm looking for more general term that includes all genres. So I guess albums that have a storyline to them.

Does ITAOTS count as a rock opera?

Kendrick Lamar- good kid, m.A.A.d city and Section.80
The Antlers- Hospice
Tyler, the Creator- Wolf
Ghostface Killah & Adrian Younge- 12 Reasons To Die
Janelle Monae- Metropolis, The ArchAndroid, and The Electric Lady (when it's released)
Lupe Fiasco- The Cool
The Roots- Undun
Deltron3030- Deltron3030

Other than than those mentioned already, these are all the concept with more present storylines I can think of. Hip-Hop and Rap music has a LOT of concept albums, the same with other genres, if you're looking for more concepts and individual stories other than ones with ones that span an entire album. I recommend the following:
Sufjan Stevens- Illinois
Neutral Milk Hotel- In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
MF Doom- MM...Food?

Magnum said that the inspiration was anne frank, but the lyrics seem a bit more connected from song to song. I thought it was a couple coming together because they both had abusive families, then separating. The girl dies and he tries to cope. Thats the impression I got from the album at least.

Queens Of The Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf is about a drive through the desert, and whether or not you're looking for concept albums you should listen anyways because it's great.

Titus Andronicus - The Monitor is kind of a concept album about teenage life in New Jersey disguised by a Civil War metaphor and it's one of the best albums released this decade, so listen to it.

oh god no, their earlier two albums both tell better stories if we are going to include them with this conversation at all

Also:
