So I'm changing my ISP to Comcast today because Verizon won't fix my service and the only other choice I have is Comcast in my area.
I need to know, how is Comcast when it comes to pirating music?
I heard that they were more strict than Verizon who has never given me a problem, no warnings on anything.
I usually use share sites, I rarely fuck with torrents, I only do so when I'm really desperate to find an album that I can't find on a share site.
So anyone with them or who were with them in the past know how they are on piracy?
| >> | No.37677147 I've had comcast for years, as it's the only thing available in my town. I have terabytes of hard drives full of tv shows, music, software, and music and have never had any problem. i've had it since the days of limewire and emule and still use it for direct downloads, torrents, rutracker, etc. never had a problem or a warning or anything.
their customer service sucks though. i got a letter in snail mail last week saying i was being charged an additional $7/mo for some modem i was supposedly leasing from them that they didn't realize i had until years into my contract. it basically boiled down to my word against theirs that my modem was one that i owned and that if they didn't believe me they could send someone out to look at it or i was canceling, so of course they backed off and took the charge off. also when i moved last year i was supposed to turn in the cable box at the local place but i couldn't find the remote and they WOULD NOT take the box without the remote (like... wouldn't take it at all), and apparently couldn't charge me for just the remote because it comes as a "package." so i set the cable box on the counter, took a picture of it, and said "i'm leaving this right here and i'm taking a picture of me leaving it right here. if i get charged for this thing i'm calling my lawyer." never got charged.
also they won't let me get JUST internet, which means i have this completely useless cable box sitting next to my tv that never gets turned on but apparently it's the same cost for internet whether you have basic cable or not. |
