Why do people think this? If I went out and told people I listen to noise, they'd think I'm insane, not fucking deep.

What I meant to say was let's not have these constant noise threads that only discuss the fanbase of the genre rather than talking about artists or albums. I like noise, but this whole "how a noise fan is perceived" crap has got to go.

Guys, if the music is going to be out there, I at least need it to sound like Death Grips. Death Grips is easily explainable to my and peers. If they heard, they'd be able to recognize the appeal of it. If they walked in on me listening to noise... I just wouldn't want to look like that douche trying too hard.

it only looks like you're trying too hard if you start showing everyone.

Anyway, I think of it like this, I like noise because I feel it's dark music without associating itself with dark things. Metal can be dark or whatever, but mainly because the tunes and lyrics are dark. Noise is dark on its own imo.

the only noise I've ever dug is Ejaculation Generator. And I think that just stems from a love of extreme metal. Sometimes you just need to lay off any sort of musical structure, and just turn the volume to maximum, put on this album and enjoy having your ears raped. I can't get into other noise though. Yellow Swans and Sutcliffe Jugend are passable, and Merzbow's a fucking joke.
