Fleet Foxes - S/T

"Conjuring guitar mass at the Church of Our Lady of Green Bud, this thickly bearded debut opens with what sounds like a wake-and-bake congregation harmonizing about a "red squirrel in the morning" and going on to sing of hummingbirds, meadowlarks and laughing children amid a swirl of strumming, flute-blowing and tambourine jiggling. Sublimely chill, the set flows like a brook; it can turn any inner-city weed-smoking party into a camping trip of the mind."

There are generally five ways private citizens may lawfully purchase, register, own and keep firearms in the home:
For home defense (seguridad y legítima defensa)
For hunting (cacería)
For target practice (tiro)
For shooting sport competition (competencia)
For collection (colección)
For home defense, the government will authorize the sale and registration of one handgun of the types and calibers permitted by law.[28] For hunting, target practice or competition, the government will authorize the sale and registration of up to nine long guns (rifles or shotguns) and one handgun of the types and calibers permitted by law (must belong to a hunting and/or shooting club for these permits to be issued). For collection, the government may authorize the sale and registration of an unlimited amount of firearms of any type and caliber in accordance to law and regulation.

Half of all gun deaths are gang-related. There were 8000 gun deaths in the U.S. in 2012. Without guns people would still have the incentive to kill but it would be more difficult, probably not much more considering guns can still be purchased from other countries. Gangs would have nothing to do if drugs were legal.

So it sounds like this says maybe a million dollars for... what? The article doesn't say. It sounds like the entire country because the quote is from somebody who works for the federal government in Washington D.C.

A million dollars is jack shit compared to $30 billion for the entire drug trade.

I'm telling you that drug use wouldn't rise that much because anybody with legs and $20 can already get what they want. Plus, doesn't it make sense that people would have to steal MUCH less if drugs were legal and cheaper? Alcohol use hasn't declined since the prohibition. You've effectively made it easier to get meth.
>Plus, doesn't it make sense that people would have to steal MUCH less if drugs were legal and cheaper?
No. The reason a crackhead steals is because he can't hold a job, because of the effects of the drug. It's the nature of the substance that causes the crime.
>This might be a bad example for cocaine, heroin and meth but marijuana would actually be given away for free if it was legal, it would be so cheap. If anything, people going to the hospital for overdoses might be more of a problem.

What? Why would alcohol use decline after being legalized?
Look, what you're basically saying, which admittedly we've heard before, is that the biggest fucking retards on Earth will think that getting addicted to crack, meth, etc. will be a good idea once these drugs are legal. As if some people think that the government will be sending a message by legalizing the drugs, as if people get their ethics from the government (ex. as if people for the most part don't shoplift or murder only because they won't get away with it).

People get addicted to hard drugs because they're poor. There's not going to be a huge wave of addicts because crack/meth is legal. So if I'm right about that, that the number of addicts will stay the same, they will only have more money and are therefore less likely to steal.
