I'm a bit post-rocker, I just despise that album because it is was triggered the wave of new post rockers who just copy that album. I don't like the style or the uplifting atmosphere of it, and knowing that is made tons of other bands help ruin post-rock made me hate it even more. 1st and 2nd wave post rock are where its at.

They are entirely different. F#A# was at the forefront of 2nd wave post rock. LYSF was what spawned thousands of shitty knock off post rockers in the 3rd wave.

TMR is pretty tight tho. Takes your standard blues and strips it down to it's rawest form and interprets it in the same way free jazz musicians do. Say what you will about the lyrics being silly, but they're really not that bad if you take them for what they are which is just humorous verbal pranksterism. The album is even more interesting if you take in to account the conditions in which it was made. All those dudes locked in a house for 8 months, not allowed to leave, and surviving on next to no food. I think it might be 2deep4u tho. :~)

>1
This album features quite a lot of rap and spoken word:
Shot In The Dark , F.H.H., Cut Out To Fl. , Final Frontier, Good Times Roll Pt.2 , Smoke & Mirrors, The Horror, Chicken-Bone Circuit, 2 More Dead, Work
That's 10 (TEN- dix - diez-) tracks out of 16.

>2
Turntablism isn't prominent in this album

>3
Sampling, sound collages and standard hip hip beats are present on 90% of the tracks

>4
Collaborations of Blueprint, Jakki da mothamouth, june all 3 of them rappers.

>5
various other sources (wikipedia, pichtfork, hiphopdx, allmusic) classify it as either rap or hip--hop.

It looks like hip hop, it smells like hip hop, it's rated as hip hop...what the fuck do you think it is???
