| >> | No.35280119 >>35279866 Heaven Sent is cool, Death In June instrumentation with Boyd Rice of NON (he does turntable music as well, odd guy) - neat stuff >>35279881 But you like complicated Noise Rock like Altered States! And I get what you mean, and there's very little rap I would listen to when I want an engaging listen (De La Soul is like the only exception), but it can be fun music if you don't really feel like overly concentrating, just when you're chatting to someone on skype or playing video games or whatever. Like I said, it's fun. But I can understand you having qualms with that, I certainly envy your ability to give so much attention to music all of the time. And no I don't want ratings, they undermine and devaluate my reviews. I like voicing my opinion, not just slapping on some stars and calling it a day like No_ or someone. I need to work on more lists though >>35279929 Disco and boogie seem more up your alley than straight-laced funk to be honest Get down with it! >>35279958 >very heavy, angry-type music with minimal vocals Noothgrush, Huata (just listen to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pxR4mcXfY8) > musique concrete/turntable music with good/creative useage of samples: Basil Kirchin, Jerome Noetinger and Erik M , John Wiese (more on the noise spectrum of things, but does some really interesting sound collage stuff), Martin Tetreault, Horrific Child, Christian Marclay, Luc Ferrari and Philip Jeck. Maybe Boyd Rice's untitled/self-titled/black album as well Also, you like Zweistein, right? Check otu Seesselberg But OBVIOUSLY my taste is RUBBISH >:~( |
| >> | No.35280234 >>35280178 I think attaching the star kind of detracts from the review and makes people focus on the score instead - I don't know about you, but I see it a lot on here in reference to various critics (fantano, scaruffi, pitchfork, tiny mix tapes, etc), and it bums me out. And I wouldn't say any of those are really fun - Horrific Child is a bit silly and B-movie-esque, but other than that, it's serious music for erudite, serious individuals - Basil Kirchin, Noothgrush and Boyd Rice are some pretty scary, crushingly heavy and hate inducing albums, at least in my opinion. Sorry to be so crabby I'm just angry to be back here again after being off the wagon for a week |
| >> | No.35280479 >>35280346 well, i'm definitely not the man to go to for the first three
but for noise rock, 16-17 comes to mind (i may have already recommended this to you i cant remember). airway does as well, though they're not really psychedelic
Xinlisupreme is pretty good; borders on shoegaze at times which i know you dont care for, but they're really good and noisy trust me
also the dark spot by Kousokuya & Masayoshi Urabe is pretty interesting. oih, and up tight if you havent heard them
i dont know how much of paul dresher you've looked into, but he's a fuckin genius. this same temple is a great piece of minimalism, and i obviously love cage machine as well
aside from that, you probably know as much, if not more minimal shit as/than me, but if you havent, check out david darling and urban sax as well
>>35280388 thanks, interesting stuff |
