i will never understand the insane amount of praise that loveless gets around here. it is indeed a great album, one of the better shoegaze albums, but its not the best and its fucking ridiculous how much it cost to make. Isn't anything is just as good for fucks sake. I feel like a lot of people who jack off to this album have very limited exposure to the other bands in the genre or something

No one but mbv can make shit sound like this, or atleast no one has in the hundreds of albums by bands who want to be like them. It's a masterful use of guitar effects and it's this kind of hectic noisiness that is at the same time extremely beautiful and personal. You can really feel the mindset of mbv in this album and it's not through the words because they're practically inaudible, but it's through the music while at the same time reverbing it to hell. while I respect slowdive they NEVER did anything like that, or any of the more popular shoegaze bands
