4chan in general seemed to hit its low point around 2007-2008. It was the high-water mark of normal people migrating from the boring parts of the internet and diluting the quality of our boards. But in recent years it seems things have gotten more absurd again. Or maybe I'm just used to it at this point./mu/ in particular is better off. We have people who actually listen to different things now. It used to be mostly metal, IDM and canonical indie.
