These songs are divided into different categories such as "inaka bushi"/"inaka buri" (rural style), "hina uta" (country song), "ondo" (working song), "bon uta" (Bon song) and "komori uta" (lullaby song). They are associated with work, religious rites, festivities, weddings and funerals. The singer is often accompanied by shamisen, shakuhachi and taiko. Minyou also includes a particular form of singing characterized by pitched shouts called kakegoe, which is also used in Nagauta.” https://mega.co.nz/#!ItZ2BTpC!NzANpwVS4o3AVPMciLJUKUueLe56f7AJo4yyh4WFsf8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=aez69w6Vmx0 |

With him are 7 members who provide sampling effects, handle percussion, vocals, sax, and bass. Otomo masterfully twists some international tunes (classic and otherwise) into a unique sound world all his own.” https://mega.co.nz/#!B4oARSxD!bLL5o1YiyGPsBl6oJ-ljmSQkUVs8OK2Brwz3tyhRwrc http://youtu.be/mj2nDoVm2Hc |

As far as I'm concerned, this is their best work, they are clearly equally influenced by the Japanese psych movement of the 70's as well as by several krautrock bands, can be quite spacey. It also has an Earth and Fire cover as well as one of Syd Barrett's "Dominoes".
This is one of "Crazy Legs" Scaruffi's favorite Japanese bands and he gave this album a 7.5 http://ge.tt/1MFJtQU/v/0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYJ76O6e6Qo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S25ELo30V0I |

Bouncy if occasionally dark, not too far removed from many of the band's equally synth crazed Western peers. This is one of those albums that gets more impressive the deeper you go, revealing textures and atmospheres that are virtually impossible to catch in a casual, put-it-on-while-doing-housework listen.” http://www59.zippyshare.com/v/13352478/file.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBtxNBEC6LY
For my money Yapoos is Togawa-sama’s best project. >>33329447 I got really excited because I thought this was their second album for a moment. >>33329537 Worth a shot |
