How many of the albums on here would you call "obscure"?

Probably none are on /mu/, but what about IRL?

Macintosh Plus (why is that even on there) and Have a Nice Life are both fairly obscure, in that they both have solid followings but can be unknown to people who have an interest in music. The rest WILL be known by anyone who explores beyond the radio. Kanye, Radiohead, King Crimson and NMH are played on the radio and are therefore mainstream.

I'd say macintosh plus, swans, troutmask and deathconsciousness are the only truly obscure ones.

I've never met someone who was in to swans, but I'm guessing they're more popular than my anecdotal experience extends.

Anyone who's been into beefheart has been like a really weird old person.

Deathconsciousness is mostly a /mu/ phenomenon as is macintosh plus.

The rest are pretty well known except for maybe mbv, but it's def more popular than the first four i mentioned.

Most /mu/ agrees that is a (at least) 9/10 (entry-level) album.
