Depends on what you want to add. If it's just recorded audio, as in another MP3, try Audacity. It's free and can edit multiple audio tracks as far as I know.

If you're looking for a real DAW, you gotta try them out and see what you like best.
Ableton Live, Reason, Logic, Cubase... there are many more and most offer demo versions so you can try before you pirate huge file- I mean buy them.

very melodramatic piano here. Very obviously synthesised which is a shame.
Love that organ, I am such a sucker for organ.
Oh man. Mood killing. Why leave it so empty?
Also that clap sounds awful.
risers are for pussies.
like the depth to those stabs.
Really hate that clap man, use a fucking 808 or 909.
I like the second synth following the melody.
It is all a bit straying on the wrong side of cheesy, but in a sorta knowingly naff way.
Which sorta works in its favour.
The mixing is ok, could do with some atmosphere though.

Yikes, got a bit of strong resonance there.
Oooh... got chills from those bell-like pads. very nice.
I like how this is developing.
LOVE the low end on the kick. Really nice use of frequencies.
Shame it ended so dependant on the samples.
Could've let them disappear and developed the atmosphere more.

>2nd track.
I really hate that break. It sounds awful.
Nice bass.
Could definitely do with more percussion.
Like the way the synths are building.
Like these percussive elements in the breakdown.
its getting repetitive, could do with changing the sounds of the synths.
Nothing huge, just some subtlety.
Quite well-mixed, especially considering how full and rich the main synths are.
Nice tune.

I actually started making music when I was about 14, using dj software to record and overdub loops.
Time-consuming and piss poor.

OK, onto the first track.
vocal needs eqing the bottom out.
the dnb needs turning up.
they work together quite well. Can't stand either track tbh, but if you got the mixing right this would go down well in some less-discerning crowds (hehe, I'm a total fuckin dance music snob)

Wow, this is EVEN MORE stoned.
Get developing your ideas more into coherent tracks with beginnings, middles and ends.
You've obviously got a good selection of samples to be getting on with, just get focused and develop your ideas more, or at least put a few more ideas together into a mixtape-style track.

Bass music? I'll bite.

Nice sub, but the kick could be snappier to let it breathe.
Could do with some rhythmic element to it too rather than just a constant rumble.
The snare is nice, the cymbal is a bit naff.
The pad is OK if a bit thin and static.
Not sure what's so 'experimental' to me other them the structure, but even that I'd call undeveloped rather than experimental.
Some nice ideas, but I don't think you're done with it yet. It doesn't sound like a finished track to me. If you don't want more layers to it, be subtle with your production and use subtle modulation and automation to accentuate what's already there.

Recorded with a really expensive dynamic microphone placed in the center of my room.
We just bought a big mixer with 8 inputs.
What kind of mics would you recommend for recording drums, guitar and bass? I'm gonna use the current one we have for vocals.

Lovely chords
Nice vocals!
Wonderful harmony.
Hmm, the guitar and drums let down the nice mix you had there.
Could do with some more low end, especially when the chorus comes in, maybe use some careful EQing and use the piano as a bass element.
This is a lovely tune though. You've got a great set of lungs.
Highly recommendable, get yourself down to a proper studio soon as.

No worries, I do wish people would give proper feedback in these threads.
Listening to the next track now.
Love the percussion
The sub is nice and fluid.
the piano is getting pretty repetitive with having such a strong and disorientating melody to it.
Like this little glitchy bit, kinda fun.
Went on for a bit too long though.
there's some nasty resonance on the synth in the outro. Use a notch in your EQ to get rid.

>>31499713
With songwriting capabilities as strong as yours, you can afford to be not-so-hot in the production department.
I'll give you a tip though, if you don't know how to EQ something, just solo it, cut from the bottom until just before the moment it sounds empty, then cut the top until just before it sounds muffled, then listen to it in the mix. If it's still giving you trouble, duplicate the track and have one to pick out the mid/low, and one to pick out the tops, then layer them with a little compression.

For example, at least a third of the song Power is really dope, but it seems like you're going anti-structure with your songs which going to alienate people even though there's cool shit in there.

good melody development in the first track. nice custard-esque bouncy rhythm guitar. Vocals a little loud for me, particularly harmony just after 2:00 - way too loud. Last one at 2:25 has a certain trashy charm like Normal Years-era BTS. Don't know if double tracking necessary on vox in second track: doesn't add anything. This one reminds me a bit of capstan shafts. harmonies work better on this one than the first.

like the high devil-may-care vox. nicely on pitch. like the interplay at .50 Returning to intro riff seems a bit stock at 1:20 Better change at 2:40. Would just go to a bassline at 1:20 instead of the guitar.
Some nice lyrics (right ear's ringing) and some that need improving 'you said you'd be waiting after school'. Emo delivery from 2:40-2:50 a bit overwrought. One of the notes in the chorus sounds a little too rock radio; also 3:40-3:50 needs something discordant to get away from that commercial sound. good vocal performance for the most part, though.

Ha! What are you so mad about? Firstly, I said 'if', thus giving the guy chance to answer me. Secondly, my problem, as stated, was with the 'comment for comment' bullshit. I don't care whether he leave feedback or not, the problem is that people who promote that approach kill these threads and diminish the usefulness of feedback and follows. I don't see the point in people only leaving feedback in the hope of getting feedback, and only following whoever follows them, it is a bad approach.
Third, why can't you just keep comments to yourself?

>>31501768
My point is that the feedback for feedback system kills itself, and serves no purpose.
This is why I prefer to give feedback in the thread, and if I am so inclined I might follow comment or favourite on SC if I really love what I'm hearing and I want to keep in touch with that person.
It is extremely frustrating not getting feedback on your stuff when you're giving lots of feedback out, but you just have to deal with it.
I'm not gonna give you a compliment because you gave me a compliment, this thread isn't a teenage girl's photo album on a social networking site.

Like the atmospheric noise.
got that Airhead/Mount Kimbie feel to it, but not aping the style too much.
I'd change the position of the hi hat and give it some garagey swing, only placing it on the off-beat when you get the new synths come in about 2:40 to tie it together more.
It starts sounding more IDM-like there.
I think after that you need some meaty sub notes, and make the beat more complex, then let the melody start to disintegrate.

also try duplicating the Guitar and hard panning each channel left and right, gives it a better stereo image and kind of INYOFACE feel. (would work for vocals too)

Structure is an important part of giving feedback, so preferably yes.
On the other hand, fuck it, lemme see what ya got.

>chiptrance
Why would you do that?

>basstep
B-but...? Dubstep started this whole 'bass music' thing (which, let's face it, is just a case of lazy music journalism. Bass-focused music goes back to Jamaican soundsystem culture). What exactly are you combining here?

-1 for having swag in your name

+1 for having some hardcore power chords

Great stuff, try balancing your instruments more, alot of stuff is being drowned by the guitar.

Because it's possible

>What exactly are you combining here?
a nice mellow trance rythm and what not, then progress into a chiptune/keygen,dnb style thing with deep sub bass wobbles With the right mindset, I'm sure it could sound pretty decent.

Well, the DnB I buy.
Well, whatever, go for it, I was just wondering what the hell you were getting at.

Vocal's too high. Hissing a lot.
Flow needs work.
Dated style, the instrumental is repetitive as fuck.
Second rapper is better by far.
The scratching is pretty bad.

Gonna skip the remix.

Risers are for pussies.
Muddy as fuck production. Get EQing.
the kick and snare get totally lost.
Where's your sub?
Some of the wubs aren't in time, how'd you even manage that?
The breakdown drags on and on.
Really, this isn't the worst I've ever heard, but it's pretty bad.
Honestly, are you not even sick of this style of music yet? I could understand that for someone who's never been to a club, this music must sound pretty exciting and stuff at first, but now you must surely be bored with it. surely?

would a pop filter help the hissing you think?

also Logic Pro/ Pro Tools has a 'De-Esser' that takes out the hissing. you can probably download the plugin for free for other DAW's

Thanks very much. If I'm achieving an out of tune Malkmus, then I think I'm doing okay.
I am less than qualified to talk about your cloud. But I've listened to the three most recent songs you posted and they all sound cool. Sorry for being a pleb. But hey, with how much feedback you've given in this thread I'm pretty confident that you're a nice guy who is actually trying to make soundcloud threads better. So really good work in that regard.
