So, /mu/, what festivals out there are the best?
Great:Coachella, LollaGood: Bonaroo, JazzfestBad: P4k
the one where we all take turns having sex with your mother while you watch
I think All Tomorrow's Parties is supposed to be cool >>30372330Nice one
>>30372330Nah man, that one is too crowded10k was okay, rothbury was great, but I don't think they do it anymore
None of them, they're all incredibly expensive, with neon-jacketed security scattered throughout the whole place, the porta potties are horrible, everyone's a retard when it comes to walking in a crowd, and everything's expensive as fuck. add the cost to travel, and the fact that there might only be 1 to 2 bands playing that you like, the other 47 on the list being completely shit.>warped tour>bamboozle left
I hardly know of any, but Roskilde should be great.
>>30372407you sound like a fun guy
Supersonic in Birmingham looked pretty good this year, couldn't go though
>>30372407>Attending wrapped tour>costanza.jpgI shiggy du
>>30372447>tfw everyone you know goes to raves, not rock concerts.>tfw you don't want to be surrounded by a bunch of 15 year olds on drugs
It's all about the line up.If there's trash music on it attracts trash people. You put large quantities of trash people in a space with little security you end up with an unpleasant event
>>30372522Woodstock '99
i've gone to lolla the last three years and it's been a lot of fun. the lineups have never been amazing except maybe the day this year with gaslight anthem, at the drive-in and jack white. i would never go if i didn't live here, though. i don't think there's a festival in the world that's really worth the money except maybe warped tour if you're 15 and your favorite band is playing. there's nothing like that.
I liked Woodstock '69Bob Marley and Led Zeppelin really owned it there. Also when Bob Dylan first went electric, I thought his choosing of Woodstock to do that at was a good idea.
Roskilde is really nice, next to none security faggotry and everyone seems to get along anyway. Their lineup the last two years have been a little weak, although they still book mostly quality stuff, many upcomers for instance. But they are spending way to much money on charity and such things.
>>30372662bob dylan didn't play woodstock, he went electric at the newport folk festival
I wanted to go bestival this year. The line-up looked brilliant....And then ya do some googling....sniffer dogs all over the play... Really? What makes it so annoying is you just know the place is gonna be brimming with enough alcohol to drown a whale. If it was a family event I'd understand, but it's double standards as fuck.
Why hasn't anyone said Glastonbury?
>>30372735This guy right here
Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX.Seriously, look at that fucking lineup.that was the best goddamn weekend of my life.
>>30372754I went to Bestival in 2010 and got caught with an 8th of weed by the sniffer dogs, got an official written warning. It was quite easy to buy MD and weed inside, I think people who went via the car ferry rather than the one at the train station were searched less rigorously
>>30372816that's a pretty awesome looking lineup you got there
>>30372735troll'd
>>30372735am i being le tricked
>>30372493It was brilliant. Definitely the best festival.
>>30372816God hannibal burress is so fucking funny.
I went to End of the Road festival in dorset. it was ok.
fo any guys from mid europe, gotta recommend off festival in Poland, this year it had a pretty sweet lineup http://off-festival.pl/pl/2012/artist.html>Swans>Battles>The Antlers>MF Doom>Thurston Moore>Iceage>Colin Stetson>Shabazz Palaces>Container>Bardo Pond>Converge>Chrome HoofAnd many many more. And it's very very cheap for its quality
