What type of jazz is this song?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OrKzc3hdIIAnd where can I get more of it?
bump
You could just look up Dizzy Gillespie. Just a thought. But it is post big band, probably post bebop too.
Dizzy Gillespie is generally viewed as an early bopper. That particular song isn't very boppish though, which is understandable considering it's not even an original Gillespie tune.Anyway, Kind of Blue is what you're looking for.
>>29723129>Dizzy Gillespie>post bebopwut
>>29723129Well I listened to the album it came from and all the other songs were nothing like that>>29723175Alright ill go check that out, but where do I go from there?

>>29723411I'm not even sure what you're looking for, but I'm assuming you want something slow and mellow. Miles mastered that aesthetic and he also plays the trumpet, so what could possibly go wrong? Just try to steer away from his straightforward bebop stuff.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIvB8WrkYpAhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ4l4oRkh_8http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMINC9EOZMEGrant Green should also deliver. Guitar-driven jazz has an inherently mellow sound as opposed to reeds and brass.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoXNc-vKdJMhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMuWWfKUQ6cWest coast jazz (subbranch of cool jazz) might also work.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc34Uj8wlmEhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiew8O8BLlYA lot of piano jazz released on ECM has a very reverberated, slow mellow sound that you might be fond of.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgF5GPmxlJQ (just picked this at random and lo and behold!)
