>(NOTE: Upon further examination, I don't think this is a sharespammer thread. There are some albums here that sharespammer always spams but I think that's just a coincidence. Also sharespammer never talks and the person sharing them has conversed several times)
SHARESPAMMER EXPLAINED:
This person always posts the same albums and has been doing so for about 2 years on /mu/. They're known as "sharespammer."
It was way worse about a year/year and a half ago. The same albums would be spammed much more frequently... pretty much every sharethread and even totally unrelated threads would be spammed with these albums. The person doing it wouldn't converse with anyone, just spam the albums in the same format kind of like gorespammer. The format is always:
Artist - Album >Genre, different genre, different genre http://www.mediafire.com http://www.youtube.com
Usually the genre is shit like ethereal, post-rock, dreampop, shoegaze, ambient, slowcore, experimental, and folk.
It's annoying because it takes the fun and randomness out of sharethreads. It's like this person is forcing their taste on everyone by spamming it so frequently.
Believe it or not, sharespammer is actually a "she." About a year ago we made a thread, trying to track down who was behind the spamming and managed to find a livejournal blog with all of the same albums being shared. The livejournal was run by someone called "Karen." It was quickly shut down. We also tracked down her last.fm profile. I forget what her username is. I think she's still got it but she might have wiped her plays, and blocked comments. |
| >> | No.25804346 >>25804183 idk what hipsters listen to, anymore. One of the most hipstershit bands I've ever seen live was Au Revoir Simone, and they were playing The Smiths over the PA before the show. While "This Charming Man", or something like that, was playing, some of the people near me started complaining about the "obnoxious, loud rock music" being played. This actually gives me hope - hipsters are becoming so boring and conservative, that I bet their pissed off, rebellious kids are going to come out with some really good, passionate, angry music to rebel with. The other hipster concert I was at recently was Interpol, which was terrible, and all these kids in hipstershit uniforms were doing the Charlie Brown head bob dance (unintentionally); the most reprehensibly and obnoxiously pretentious hipstershit girl I know loves The Walkmen. Between these Interpol and Walkmen fans, I suspect that a lot of hipsters are actually plebes. And don't even get me started on those awful Tegan & Sara kids. |
