Is there just one big inside joke with this mans career and the praise he receives? People are actually thinking he's some significant and influential artist, even going so far as to say Drake albums and GKMC wouldn't exist without him. I know he's produced many different rap songs, but then again so has Pharrell and others. What makes him so special? He hasn't done anything to completely change the landscape of rap. People say he put an end to gangster rap and started this sing/rap phenomenon but that's just not true seeing as Lil Wayne and 50 cent were the most popular rappers of the mid to late 2000s. And you still have many different gangster rappers in the mainstream like Rick Ross, Waka Flocka, Chief Keef etc. Also Outkast and many others were sing/rapping well before him. It's like there's this powerful manipulator behind the scenes manufacturing his alleged accolades to make him seem more important than he is, like they need to have that one artist that's the driving force of the music industry at the moment, but it just didn't happen naturally like, for example, Nirvana. Also MBDTF was just a decent pop/rap album that seemed to have been overhyped at the time because it was released after his media backlash. Songs like monster, so appalled, blame game, all of the lights, etc. are ok, but enough to support its status as the "landmark album of the decade"? Really.. Yeezus is a much better album, but even that doesn't deserve the insane amount of praise it gets. So like I was saying, is it all just a big joke? Do you think him and executives get together with major music publications and laugh at how gullible everybody is?
