This is one of the saddest anecdotes in the Beach Boys stories I can think of. I absolutely cannot imagine how hurt he must of been. He worked so fucking hard on H&V and it was a slice of the album that he was forced to shelve. It would have been like a big redeeming great thing if he released it and it was a big hit, but...

I have no idea what you're talking about. I like both bands.

But /mu/ is fucking stupid. There was a thread yesterday where people tried to say the Beatles did doubletracked vocals AND Leslie'd vocals first. Brian Wilson did both of those things in fucking 1963, before the Beatles had even made A Hard Day's Night.
