I don't take recs from /mu/ anymore, because they only ever have a superficial grasp of any genre, and it's pretty obvious that most people here only use music as a fashion accessory.
I take a genre and keep digging into discographies of prominent figures and then their associated acts, and then their discographies and so forth. It's much more rewarding, even if it doesn't generate much discussion.
Plus, it makes it all the better when any of those artists are mentioned here, so i can have an actual good discussion on /mu/ for once, instead of 50 million spam threads whenever a new album gets panned by p4k and memetano.
