$O$, by Die Antwoord
2.5 - Good; has a special sound and unique elements.
I enjoyed the trance and bounce elements, especially on the Diplo-produced track and "Beat Boy". Plus, Watkin Tudor Jones is a phenomenal rapper. Yolandi is best relegated to hook duties, though, which she then handles very well. I liked the addition of guitar on "In Your Face" and "Doos Dronk" as well. Good alternative hip hop record.

1.5 - Intriguing; worth another spin.
There was good abrasiveness, and proper drop tuning here, mixed with some stellar guitarwork. The constantly returning melodic element annoyed me though, especially taking their previous releases into consideration. Plus, why that electronic pace-killer "Serpentine" was included, I do not know. This was alright but I easily prefer the more grind-based metal on Put On Your Rosy Red Glasses to this.
